  1. Honestly, I thought the same thing. If a debt is with a debt collector it has to be paid to them, not the original place where you incurred the debt. I found this out when I was sent to collections for a $25 service fee I incurred at my midwives that I didn't know about. Tried to pay midwife and was told about this rule.
  2. Both MIL and FIL passed away long before I met DH. He assures me they would have loved me and I choose to believe him.
  3. It looks like a firecracker/grenade. So no throwing explosives in the toilet maybe?
  4. Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. My old student just answered and I thought I would send the info along in case he ends up attending Baylor. She attends two places. The first is called Church Under the Bridge. It is a community outreach focused church primarily dealing with serving the homeless community. On days when she isn't there, she attends Harris Creek. It has two campuses and the one she attends is 95% students.
  5. I charged a flat rate of $50 per hour for any tutoring (primary and secondary) and $75 per hour to edit papers but $100 per hour to edit thesis or dissertation.
  6. My eldest was introduced to Marmite by a classmate (we had vegemite growing up in Canada and do a gf "mite" for my coeliac kids here) so now he refuses vegemite. I might try ozmite. Most people in WA are coffee snobs and the coffee is incredible. However, the instant is served at school functions all the time. I've yet to see a snake but my kids saw a dugite snake in the yard once.
  7. I took it off. It was a high setting and kept catching on things. I only wear my band and put the ring on for fancy occasions.
  8. Boy 37weeks 7.4 Boy 35 weeks 6.6 Girl 36 weeks 6.10 Girl 37 weeks 7.6 Girl 37 weeks 6.4
  9. FB friend just announced her grandson was just born and named (I'm adding spaces so it can't be googled) J A I I D Y N
  10. Honestly I wouldn't give it as a shower gift but tell her that you found it and would like to pass it on to her.
  11. One of my former tutorees goes to Baylor and is very active in her church. I can ask her which one it is if you would like.
  12. Maybe because I grew up in a French place where it is a common name pronounce Zhac-leen, I would only ever pronounce it Jack-lin. I've never heard it pronounced Jac-kwe-lin IRL. Interesting regional differences.
  13. This is probably a question that needs to be answered by the University legal department so you are all properly covered. I think the larger copyright problem is the very fact that the student rented a consumable. Consumables are to be used by one purchaser (sometimes a whole family is covered) and not resold. I think renting violates this. Talk to legal and CYA
  14. I adored Irene and could see Sherlock with her. Molly is very milk-toast for me. Very intelligent but no backbone. There is a lot of literature devoted to what could have happened between Sherlock and Irene...did he spend his missing years with her? Did they have a live child (Nero Wolf)?
  15. Okay I guess I'm the only one who hates the Molly romance arc. She irritates me. I always assumed there was a woman in his past especially after his mum says something about some mystery female worrying about him and I thin Mycroft made a reference to a female once. But, I've only seen episode 1 of season 3.
  16. I get that she made the disappearance possible but the way both my mum (who is here visiting and watching) and i interpreted that scene was in a very romantic "you really are the most important person in my whole life" and I have just never gotten that impression from previous episoded. Are we looking at it differently than most people?
  17. My problem with S3e1 was that Sherlock's cruelty seemed very purposeful and malicious rather than sort of unconscious like in previous seasons. And then the whole Molly thing is just annoying...she's actually the person who matters most to him? No way. I caught some of the words around Mary so can't wait for episode 2.
  18. I am an atheist, and I get satire and British humour. Mostly I found it "meh" but did like the Mary/Joseph mug...I would totally own that IRL
  19. I do this exact type of thing all the time.
  20. We are purely secular but DH missed saying grace (from when he was young) because to him it separated the meal from the rest of the day; maybe it was the ritual he missed so we came up with a family saying (I think it comes from Madeleine in big part) Thank you for the birds who tweet Thank you for the food we eat We love our bread, we love our butter But most of all we love each other. Then during the meal we all say the 3 best parts of our day.
  21. Does anyone else just have random thoughts pop into their head? DD <1 is napping and I am quietly sitting with her thinking about Sherlock Holmes when randomly "I wish I knew how to sew" and "it would be fun to visit my great grandmother's birthplace in the Himalays" rapidly popped into my head. Always throws me for a loop when it happens. Anyone else?
  22. To me, this is one of the primary purposes of FB; keeping in contact with people you may never physically see again (well and to post pics for family who are far away).
