  1. If you're on interstates, we found iExit helpful. Unless they've added features, I think it is only for interstates, not other highways.
  2. Is it possible that this varies by state? I've always been told to notify my insurance company and that the insurance companies will determine fault and who pays - but Ive never heard of only filing with the at fault insurance. I dont have much personal experience, but my dh was in a chain reaction accident and that's how the process seemed to work - all 4 drivers contacted their own insurance companies and it took months to determine fault, but it was done amongst the insurance companies. At least 2 of them interviewed my dh and asked for photos of damage, etc. In my state, police are not allowed to make a determination of fault (which surprised and confuses me?)
  3. I love my Epson 3760 from Costco with the refillable ink wells instead of cartridges. It has worked well for us for several years and is still going strong. The printer cost more up front than my previous canon and hp, but the savings on ink has been significant.
  4. I would have agreed with you until a few years ago when I was wheeled to my shared room at the main hospital at UNC-Chapel Hill at midnight. I was shocked and angry but ended up spending a very special week with an older lady. I got to know her and her daughter, I became an advocate for her in many ways (I wasn't on any mind altering drugs and she was, plus I was 30 years younger). She encouraged me. It ended up being such a blessing in disguise. Just last year I spent 2 nights in a wing at UNC that was 8 beds with curtain-only walls. It was kind of a place they moved people out of the ER until a 'real' room was ready.
  5. My mom always used a 50-50 blend of sour cream and cream cheese in place of ricotta in lasagna. I've continued the tradition and it always gets rave reviews.
  6. The professional.photographers I know all use pixieset. I know no other details. But have found it user friendly as a client.
  7. I'd think a manual chopper (like This) would work well for your needs. I've been using a similar model from pampered chef for 20+ years.
  8. I subscribe to Tangle, a daily email newsletter and podcast than compiles articles from all different sources on one or two key topics per day. Its more of a "slow" news source that goes in depth but does mention most of the big stories of the day in it's quick hits section. It looks at issues/events through a political lens but it is not partisan - it shares articles from sources that lean both left and right with sections called "what the left is saying" and "what the right is saying" www.readtangle.com
  9. Yes only the account with their name as an authorized user is added to their credit report.
  10. We add our teens as authorized users on our card. We've done it on two different ones - I really like that on our Capital One card, each user has a different card number (so if one gets stolen, only that one has to be replaced) and the statement itemizes transactions by user, so it's easy to see how much the kids owe each month. This does require the parent not to carry a balance on the card being shared, or you get into interest issues. And the accounts do show up on the kids credit reports when they turn 18 (even if you never give their. Ssn) , so if you're paying it off monthly, it helps them build credit.
  11. My 15 year old has suspected long COVID. She has found that her brain fog (which was moderate to severe and noticably, negatively affected her ability to learn spring semester) is helped by daily antihistamines. (She is taking Claritin). There were some published case studies about this as a possible treatment in Feb/March of this year, and even some speculation in November of 2021. I have seen articles saying it needs to be tested further, but don't know if that's happening yet. It is low risk/high reward for us, and while she says her brain still doesn't work like it used to, she feels her cognitive ability is much better when she takes the antihistamine regularly. Significant, purposeful rest this summer has also helped. (She had covid in January).
  12. Southwest flies out of Minneapolis and to Vegas (not direct though, at least not daily) and they don't even release flights until 6-7 months in advance. They will open up flights in September through mid April, so you might have to wait til October or November for May travel dates. While they're not as "discount" as they once were, I appreciate the free checked bags. And would think that their flights being available might create competition, bringing other fares down some. You have to search on their site - their flights don't show up on Expedia, kayak, etc.
  13. I flew on a Delta/Air France code share from Atlanta to Frankfurt,Germany on May 3 and back on the 12th. Despite everything the airlines sent me beforehand, masks were NOT required on the flight in either direction, NOR at the Frankfurt airport. I'd say at most 25% of people were masked on the flights or in the airports.
  14. @BakersDozen I sent you a pm. I am a long time lurker and would love to have your syllabus if you are willing to share.
