  1. We went - to 6 different locations. It's a fun tradition we do every year and everyone loves it.
  2. We named our school Five Stars Academy (5 kids). But when she graduated, dd wanted to use our last name - Academy. She was proud she was homeschooled and wanted it to be obvious on her diploma. Love that girl :) Sue
  3. Heritage Christian Home School Support Group attracts people from NW Houston including Spring and Cypress https://www.homeschool-life.com/tx/hchs/
  4. Ds (10) has been going to Shriners since he was an infant. He had surgery for clubfoot there and is currently being monitored for his scoliosis and limb length discrepancy. We LOVE Shriners. They go above and beyond to take care of the kids.
  5. We have been loving Wise and Otherwise :)
  6. I have two pairs and wear them without socks. LOVE them.
  7. My daughter used BJU Algebra 2. When she got to College Algebra, I found she had not been properly prepared. I don't want to make the same mistake with my next child. He has done BJU Algebra 1 and Jacobs Geometry. Whilch Lial should I use for Algebra 2? Thanks, Sue
  8. Both dd's (17 and 9) use Manic Panic. They have gone Vampire Red, Hot Pink, and one of the purples (sorry, don't remember which). They have had a lot of fun with it. It is available online or at Sally Beauty Supply. Sue
  9. The lasagna recipe on the back of the Ronzini Healthy Harvest all natural 100% whole grain lasagna box is always a hit with company. Instead of 1 lb. of ground beef, we use 1/2 lb. ground meat and 1/2 lb. italian sausage. YUM Sue
  10. dd (17) recently got a cartridge piercing done at a tattoo/piercing place. I admit, I went in with preconceived notions; but I found them to be professional, knowledgeable, and clean. I would definitely go back with any of my kids.
  11. ds (14) and I have a "date" to see it this afternoon. We are the only ones in the household to read the series so we get to go before the rest of the family. Plus, I'm excited to have a day for just the two of us (we're going out to eat as well). Sue
  12. Dd (17) had all four wisdom teeth pulled just last Friday. We chose to do a local (general anesthesia was too expensive). She came through just fine and in fact was glad she had not slept through it. Her recommendation for her siblings is to stay awake. Hope all goes well :) Sue
  13. Yes, but only a few subjects. DH works today so we're going to be working too (on school). Sue
  14. I have attended both. There is NO WAY I would ever take my kids during the regular season. The clothing is too revealing. The wenches proposition the men. The "jokes" are crude. I was very uncomfortable with it. It is so much nicer during the school days. The kids had an amazing time and I didn't have to be concerned with what they were seeing or hearing. Sue
  15. Yup - I took the kids ice skating today - no crowd and a special homeschool price. Lovin' it :001_smile: Sue
