  1. We always told our children right away. BUT... Earlier this year I found out I was pregnant and we told them and several wks later I had a miscarriage and the older two were SO SAD and didn't understand. It was a great teaching/talking opportunity but I would have rather not put them though that. In May I got pregnant again and had another miscarriage in July. I was really glad we did not make the same mistake. So, I would say wait until after the first u/s or dr. apt.
  2. I would remove her bedroom door and to take away all privacy from her bedroom until she earns it back! I know it sounds crazy but for me that would have been the worst punishment when I was growing up.
  3. Looking for opinions on this program. We have and LOVE Rosetta Stone but a friend of mine told me that Tell Me More is the same as Rosetta Stone but WAY cheaper.
  4. I can't get it off of my mind either! I've been desperately trying to brain storm ways to help!
  5. Have any of you heard of this? My eyes were open on Monday night when I went to hear a speaker named Christine Caine! She opened my eyes to the REALITY of HUMAN TRAFFICKING! Here are a few of the horrific stats: *Trafficking in women is the second largest global organized crime today, generating approximately US$12 billion a year.[2] *There are 1.39 million victims of commercial sexual servitude worldwide.[3] Over 25 percent of sex trafficked victims are trafficked from Southern and Eastern Europe.[4] *90% of victims trafficked into EU member states end up in the sex industry.[5] *There is an estimated 20,000 women and girls trafficked into the Greek sex industry, earning Greece the title: "the center of trafficking in Europe."[6] *One study reveals that one in every 10 Ukrainian persons knows someone in their community who has been trafficked.[7] *Tragically, only 1-2 percent of victims are rescued, and only 1 in 100,000 Europeans involved in trafficking are convicted.[8] I can not believe how ignorant I was! We can't do everything but we can do SOMETHING! http://www.theA21campaign.com
  6. I do not. I use MUS for my 3rd grader and tried that with my now 1st grader when she was in K and thought she needed something with more practice b/c things were not "clicking" for her. We just started with Saxon 1 for her. If she knows/ understands what is being taught easily, then I just skip. Practice is great but Saxon can overdo it IMO.
  7. How about this one! My cousin announced on FB that she was expecting triplets! I called my aunt to tell her congratulations (these babies will be her first and only grands) and she did not know Amy was having triplets! I felt SO bad but reallly?? Who would make such a public announcement before telling the parents!
  8. That is interesting that you mention the thyroid. I have felt as though I had sx of hypothyroidism since last Aug. 3 wks ago I asked them to check my levels but they wouldn't at that time bc of insurance. Now I'm really curious about my levels.
  9. Thank you all for your support and sharing your experiences. I'm just so confused because I have had 4 completely normal pregnancies and deliveries. I'm only 29 so I'm sure as you know I want an explanation. When you say testing, do you mean on the passed baby? Both times I have passed everything at home. Well tomorrow I have an ultrasound to make sure I passed everything. If not, I will have a d and c. I guss they can't do testing if I already passed everything right?
  10. After normal pregnancies? If so, did you have any more normal pregnancies? Yesterday I experienced my second miscarriage. I had one in April a normal cycle in May and got pregnant when I ovulated in May. I had an ultrasound Fri (because i started bleeding) that showed me at 5wks instead of almost 8wks. Anyways, I'm curious if anyone else has experienced something similar and if you had more children after. ETA: No DNC needed! They are checking my thyroid, hemoglobin A1c, antibodies, progesterone, and prolactin. Thank you all so much for your kind words, encouragement and sharing your experiences. Some of you have been through way worse and I can't even imagine.
  11. $40,000 about but that was for 8ft deep with no diving board.
  12. :iagree: My husband bought me an iPad and I wanted to return it for this exact reason. I also have the key board adapter which is nice but you can not put it on your lap and type comfortably. So you have to put it on a desk or table to use the keyboard which I think defeats the purpose.
  13. Thanks to all of you for your prayers! I did end up having a miscarriage. But, I know that in ALL things God works everything for good and even though I'm sad, I know that this too shall pass and if anything, I am more empathetic to those who have experienced the loss of an unborn child.
  14. I agree. My husband is hispanic and grew up in Venezula where the doctor pierced every baby girl's ears. We had our daughters pierced at 6 months old.
  15. I am waiting... I was reminded of two of my favorite songs I'm waiting I'm waiting on You, Lord And I am hopeful I'm waiting on You, Lord Though it is painful But patiently, I will wait I will move ahead, bold and confident Takeing every step in obedience While I'm waiting I will serve You While I'm waiting I will worship While I'm waiting I will not faint I'll be running the race Even while I wait I'm waiting I'm waiting on You, Lord And I am peaceful I'm waiting on You, Lord Though it's not easy But faithfully, I will wait Yes, I will wait I will serve You while I'm waiting I will worship while I'm waiting I will serve You while I'm waiting I will worship while I'm waiting I will serve you while I'm waiting I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord se 1: This is my prayer in the desert And all that's within me feels dry This is my prayer in the hunger in me My God is a God who provides Verse 2: And this is my prayer in the fire In weakness or trial or pain There is a faith proved Of more worth than gold So refine me Lord through the flames Chorus: And I will bring praise I will bring praise No weapon forged against me shall remain I will rejoice I will declare God is my victory and He is here Verse 3: And this is my prayer in the battle And triumph is still on it's way I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ So firm on His promise I'll stand Bridge: All of my life In every season You are still God I have a reason to sing I have a reason to worship Verse 4: This is my prayer in the harvest When favor and providence flow I know I'm filled to be empited again The seed I've recieved I will sow
  16. Thank you ladies! I want to be hopeful but I don't want to get my hopes up either. I did have a miracle experience with #4 and I know miracles happen every day! I chose not to do the lab work b/c I don't have insurance until May 1st. I know that sounds silly but we had to pay almost $500 out of pocket just for the u/s and doctor visit. The doctor said that I can take a hpt in 2 wks and see if it is neg. or pos.
  17. I just found out I was pregnant last wk with a positive hpt. I'm not sure of the date of my lmp but was pretty sure I was really early. I started bleeding on Friday. Not too heavy but I was concerned. I had an u/s yesterday and it showed a very small sac and fluid in the uterus. The doctor said it looks like I'm in the process of a miscarriage. She did say there is a very small chance that I could just be too early to tell but she said that is most likely not the case. The bleeding has pretty much stopped. I haven't had any cramping. My question is, if you have had a miscarriage, has there always been a lot of bleeding AND cramping?
  18. I'm a nurse and work Sat, Sun, and Mondays. 12 hour shifts. Praying this is a short season of me working full-time but so thankful to have a job:001_smile:!
  19. Jessica, I checked out your blog and website. Well done on your own PX90 journey! THANKS! As you already know, you're absolutely right about the calorie intake. We're supplementing w/protein shakes and bars, as well as drinking much more water, etc. We remembered to take pictures (that I truly hope no one will ever see :tongue_smilie:), but forgot the measurements. However, I'm sure I'll know the difference when the measurements change (KWIM). It was time that I either settle for purchasing all new clothes in the next size up (, :crying:) or take charge and get fit. The increase in movitation, energy level and just overall well-being over this past week is amazing. Praise God! That's great! I really feel so much better when I'm consistently working out! Stacie, What does your schedule look like? We're shooting for six days a week as suggested by the program, but my dh is considering five days a week which may be a bit more realistic for him due to his work schedule. (What say ye... independent coach, Jessica?) What works best for you guys and what you can stick to is the best thing. For me, if I have more than I day off it makes it more difficult to get back into the routine.
