SparklyUnicorn
any suggestions? This is someone studying it for fun on their own using Teacher Co. videos. So I'm thinking maybe some sort of book?

SparklyUnicorn
Koine no clue how far along he is, but he's been working on it for awhile so probably not absolute beginner, but probably not anything advanced either
scrapbookbuzz
This might be fun for them. A diversion but still related.

Laura Corin
A tangential idea: the new translation of the Odyssey is getting very good reviews: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0393089053/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1
Kareni
It's now out of print (though I see used copies), but we bought our daughter a copy of this when she was studying ancient Greek: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Ancient Greek Edition) by J K Rowling Of course, we also bought her Harrius Potter et Philosophi Lapis (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Latin edition) by J. K. Rowling and Peter Needham when she was studying Latin. More recently, we bought her Harry Potter in Korean when she studied that language. eagleynne
If he's interested in studying the bible in Greek you might try something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Greek-New-Testament-Dictionary-English/dp/1619701391/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1512929573&sr=1-1&keywords=greek+new+testament It's the New Testament in Greek. This particular version is designed to be used by students who are still learning.

Regards, Kareni I laughed when I read this because I too bought Harry Potter in both Ancient Greek and Korean :) We must be studying similar languages. It is an awesome gift for someone studying Greek if you can track it down. I had someone give me some ancient Greek voting coins when I was studying it in college. I thought those were so cool and because they were plentiful in ancient times, they can be gotten from eBay for a descent price. She's been teaching English there for four years; it's the obvious thing to do if you have a college degree in Latin! The ancient Greek voting coins were certainly a thoughtful gift and unique gift. (I have a thread running about unique gifts, and I'll bring your post over there in case it inspires someone else.) Regards, Kareni

Kareni
Thank you! Thank you. Kareni! Brilliant. I just ordered these. :) Yay! I'm happy to have been of help. (It's always fun to spend someone else's money.) Just so you know, the second Harry Potter book is also available in Latin: Harrius Potter et Camera Secretorum (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Latin Edition) Regards, Kareni
