LG Gone Wild
My kids loved the Odyssey by Odds Bodkin. He does all the sound effects himself and so you think you are listening to it over the radio.
Alice
My son is younger but the audiobooks we've listened to were definitely for older kids and he still seemed interested. He loved The Tale of Despereaux, Because of Winn-Dixie, and Shiloh (my husband actually loved that one even more.) We're listening to Redwall now...although I think this one is too old for him. He picked it out at the library but hasn't been too interested. I think it's good but just a little too old.
Verena
My 10yo and 7yo boys love listening to audiobooks. (I admit it -- We do this instead of reading aloud -- Bad Mom! Bad Mom!) We've already worked our way through the library's resources on Boxcar Children, Homer Price, the Narnia books, Peter & the Starcatchers trilogy, Classical Kids, and various Your Story Hour selections. We are currently finishing James & the Giant Peach (big hit!), and Treasure Island is on hold. An attempt at The Hobbit was unsuccessful :( Can anyone make any further suggestions? mcconnellboys
We listened to Nory's Song and Maggie's Door this year and absolutely loved the voices of both narrators! Maggie's Door is the sequal to the other one. They're both about an Irish family's plight during the potato famine. Regena
