klmama
Yes, I know some don't pay anything! If you do pay dues, how much is the yearly fee? What does that price include? Are you satisfied with what you get for the price? Thanks!
kat19
I pay $12/year. I guess the money goes towards the newsletter(printing costs, etc...)~I don't really know. I get my newsletter in an email though. I think it's cheap and we have lots of activities that don't cost anything so it's worth it.
Hillary in KS
We used to pay $10 a year. The fees went to cover costs for group activities: parties, etc. No one had a problem with it, until the year that 6 out of 7 board members resigned and the one member left didn't have to justify her spending to a treasurer anymore. When asked where the money went, she got bristly and gave vague answers. The group membership dropped from 200 families to 60. Now that group doesn't charge dues anymore. :)
Mommyof4ks
$20 a year. That goes for parties, paper, and umm...I don't know what else, but we have parties each month, a newsletter telling of upcoming events, and field trip opportunities as well as standardize testing opportunities (they are not required in TX). I think it is a good value for the money.
wenn
$20/year, it pays for coffee, paper plates & cups etc. We pay the church we use a small amount for the use of their copier. If there is money leftover we give a small donation to the church for letting us use their building.
dirty ethel rackham
$15. This covers the newsletter (though most people get it via email), a phone line and listing in the phone book and reimbursement to our webhost. Anything left over gets used for something agreed upon by the members who show up for the meeting to discuss it.
Kalypso
$25 per year. It goes towards paying for the liability insurance, parties, and donations paid on behalf of the group. It is a Catholic group of about 55 families and is well worth the cost.
Ferdie
Our dues are $10 per year. The dues are used to pay for speaker thank you gifts and paper products for our meetings. Volunteers run the group, plan field trips, oversee the yahoo group. We all take turns bringing treats to our monthly meetings. We meet at a church that offers their facility for free.
