PinkInTheBlue
I don't think I've seen this part of the Peace Hill Press convention discussed but forgive me if I'm repeating. I don't know if I should assume that practically everyone I meet at the conference are fellow board members or are there actually people out there IRL who aren't on this board?? Since there will be a number of us there, how can we recognize each other? I recognize everyone by their board name and slightly linked by their board picture. We have plenty of time before this meeting but as I was scanning the board during math time this hit my brain. Stick on name tag with board name? Something? I'd love to be able to know it's you.
Riverfront Headmistress
I'll be wearing a denim jumper and very clean shoes.
Alice
I'll be wearing a denim jumper and very clean shoes. But won't everyone else be wearing the same thing? ;)
Peek a Boo
does PHP still send out the yellow buttons that have wtmboards.com on them? of course, i think that needs to be updated now, lol..... but I would suggest making the yellow circles out of construction paper or a yellow plastic lid [i used the lids off large Nesquik containers] and write it on w/ a marker. I added my online handle :)
Suzanne in ABQ
If I were going, I'd write directly to the whoever is doing registration, and ask them to put Board names on the name tags (with participant's permission, of course). Maybe they could even put people's avatars on them! That would be cool! I wish I could go. But, it's just too far, and we're already overbooked from May to August. Pbtttttt! Chris in VA
THAT, I would go to the conference to see! I could dress up as my avatar, too. (resisting the urge to say I could be the one f@rting in everyone's general direction...)
Suzanne in ABQ
Oh Man! I would fly myself there to see you in it!
Sharon H in IL
Ho boy, I'd love to see Peek in her catwoman suit -- she was so amazing in it when she first posted it. Golly. Not your average homeschool mom, eh? That said, I assumed all the WTM people would be recognizable by their shoes, not just clean, but just fabulous. I would carry my PHP bookbag (if I could afford to get myself there). I'd even iron it so it looks great for the occasion.
JWSJ
But won't everyone else be wearing the same thing? ;) Oh, no. They don't make them for men. (Please tell me I won't be the ONLY homeschooling father there...)
Mary in NJ
Oh, no. They don't make them for men. (Please tell me I won't be the ONLY homeschooling father there...) My husband will be there. He teaches the kids Bible, Latin and PE. (I teach everything else.) He considers himself a homeschooling father.
Peek a Boo
Oh, no. They don't make them for men. (Please tell me I won't be the ONLY homeschooling father there...) ya know... I went to a HEART of TX leadership conference a few years ago and got to see/ hear Jessica Hulcy [KONOS] do a fanTASTIC speech w/ her delightfully patient dh. She dressed him up as your Typical Homeschool Mom [complete w/ denim jumper, WIG, bookbag, and tennis shoes] and proceeded to question him like a group leader should [and how to analyze answers]. It was hilarious! i think a confident guy could pull it off... ;)
