muffinmom
She was like an angel, small and delicate with big, blue eyes and a sweet smile. She nearly died in childbirth with her oldest (my mother) but went on to have 5 more children, whom she and her husband raised on a beautiful farm in Tennessee. Her last 20 years have been difficult...she had to bury 2 daughters and her husband. She then struggled with illness and Alzheimer's in her last years. But I got to witness the beauty of her oldest and youngest daughters lovingly care for her around the clock in her last days. This kind of care giving to feeble parents is a powerful act of love. I feel blessed to have known my sweet grandmother and to be part of her family.

LaxMom
I am so sorry for your family's loss. My mother and aunt - and then I, later on - also had the honor of caring for my grandmother in her last days in the summer. I hope your grandmother's passing was as peaceful and beautiful as hers. She, of course, will live on in all of you.
