abcmom
Our dd will be turning 16 soon and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a special gift to give to her. We want something that would be memorable. Thanks
Jen in PA
I'm sure you'll want to give her something that she'll have to keep, but in addition to that, you might send her flowers. My stepdad was out of town for work when I turned 16, but he sent me flowers, and it was the first time I'd ever gotten them.... it was a little thing, but so adult at the same time, and I've never forgotten it. ereks mom
...a glass slipper. She and her dad shared a dance (waltz) and he made a little speech about her being "their Cinderella", and presented her with the glass slipper. It was very sweet. Blue Hen
Last April when our DS his 16, we gifted our DS with a 4 day family trip to NYC. Very memorable. It was a city he had asked to visit but he had thought his visit would be a day trip.
Mom2boys
I would say travel or jewelry.

Tap
We gave ds a laptop for his 14th birthday. It was because of his responsible nature and need for high school/college that we bought it. He says I could never top that for a present!
Desert Rat
My parents gave me a ring set with my birthstone for my 16th. It was very special because my birthstone is a pearl and they had the pearl I received on an earlier birthday in which I had a diver dive down for an oyster set into that ring. I don't wear it because it's a very big pearl and I have small hands but I cherish the ring.
ChristusG
I agree with a trip. What better way to remember you sweet 16th? Take lots of pics and make a scrapbook with them. She'll remember that for a lifetime!
LaxMom
When my eldest turned 16, we gave her a ring with her birth stone and diamonds.
farmgirlinwv
I also received a birthstone ring. My mom and I went alone together to get it. Combine that w/ a lovely "grownup" lunch and maybe a manicaure or something. Very special.
Jules
We have a daughter turning 16 soon and we will be getting her a hope chest. We did the same with her older sister and now, she is expecting the hope chest and can hardly wait. She already has plans with things she wants to fill it up with (homemade rugs and such).
