  1. She goes to a private Christian school. She absolutely loves drama and singing. She wants to sing for her audition. It has to be a Christian song. She's looking for recommendations. Any ideas? Thanks so much!
  2. I have purchased this complete program, but the tests aren't going to be here in time for Chapter 2 test (Friday). Would anyone be willing to email me a copy of it (just ch. 2) so I can stay on track? I would dearly appreciate it! :lurk5: Lisa lisantava@hotmail.com
  3. Anyone know where I can purchase these by themselves or are willing to sell them to me? Please!!!! :lurk5: lisantava@hotmail.com Thanks so much!!!!
  4. My dd is in private,Christian middle school. This is their grading scale as well.
  5. My dd is in private Christian school. Here is her schedule: PE: Mon/Wed Health: Tues/Thurs/Fri It switches next semester. Civics: every day English: every day Computer: Mon/Wed Choir: Tues/Thurs Earth Science: every day Algebra I: every day Bible: every day Each class 50 min. HTH!
  6. I've tried spanx. It made my abdomen look bigger by squishing it. If I were you, I'd get the Target knock off brand and try that before investing in Spanx.
  7. I'm in the same situation. I put dd (14yo) in private Christian school for the first time ever. She is an only child and really needs some new experiences. So far she likes it. It's hard on me. I miss her. I do think it's for the best.
  8. She has lived a sheltered life and has never been to school. Her social skills are awkward. She will be attending a small, private, Christian school. She will be in 8th grade. We get to go see the school a few days before it begins. What do I need to tell her about before school begins? Any ideas? Thanks, Lisa
  9. I don't have a problem w/ people "venting". Everyone needs to let off a little steam sometimes. Obviously, any group of people could have complaints against them by others....DIL, SIL, DC, doctors, dentists, plumbers, ect. I don't understand why some people take it personally when it has nothing to do w/ them. If DH's want to vent about their DW's, it doesn't bother me. It's not about me. If you find yourself to be sensitive, don't read those threads.
  10. I don't think so in OBX. We just got back yesterday. I didn't see anything like that. We've been going for 16 years.
  11. :chillpill: You may have missed the gist of the story due to your own baggage. I am happy to say I was "drugged" by my parents too. I am thankful for it. FTR, I don't "drug" my child for bad grades, but I do know some kids who get bad grades simply because they are lazy. They might be in need of some kind of "drug" to motivate them a little! my .02
  12. True about so many things...doctors, dentists, contractors, ect. It should work both ways!
  13. I like "old" Atkins. I feel so much better on LC. It's the only way I don't feel like I'm starving! I do think that everyone is different. However, you will do MUCH better if you don't partake of the shakes, bars, LC goodies. There are lots of great LC recipes to make. If you are looking to lose weight the quickest, stick to meat, eggs and veggies for awhile.
  14. Try JCP girls plus size swimsuits. It's where I got my dd's when she was that age.
  15. Thanks everyone. I'm going to check them out. We are reading God Girl now. I have the original Beautiful Girlhood, the original one. I'll look at the revised one.
  16. I went back after 8 years. You'll be fine! Think of how little new nurses just out of school know. You know what to expect. Of course, with hs'ing you'll need to be organized. I think I'm going to be putting dd (14yo) in Christian school in the fall and going back to work FT. Good luck!
  17. I need a book about developing Christian character for my dd who will be 14 this month. She is immature for her age. Any really interesting ones out there? She has issues w/ laziness, selfishness, and rude behaviors. I'm thinking of also volunteering at the local shelter as well. I'm looking for addressing heart issues, not just in theory, but in practical ways. Thanks, Lisa
  18. I'm a nurse, 2nd shift, two days/week...I make around $1500/month.
  19. I work 2-3 8+ hour shifts mostly 3-11 at a rehab center. I enjoy it and the $$ is pretty good. On the days I work, we get the bulk of hsing done by lunch. Then I leave homework for her to finish while I'm at work. She's almost 14yo. When I have several shifts back to back, I get tired and sleep too late sometimes. AFter a bad shift, I might not get home til 2am. Nursing is a nice job though, lots of different schedules. My job pays for extras and I'm glad to have it. It works well w/ hsing.
