klmama
I'm considering purchasing some glasses for applying eye makeup, but I'm not sure what strength to order. I'm far-sighted, and my normal prescription is +3.00 plus +2.75 for near vision. Do I add those together to come up with the strength I need, so +5.75? The strongest I've seen is +4.00. Thoughts? MercyA
Maybe this is a dumb question, but does a magnifying mirror not work for you? I am totally reliant on mine for makeup application.
klmama
It might, but I don't really have any counter space for it.

I never thought of this as a solution to not being able to see when I put on my make-up!

I have a small one that suction cups into the mirror. Might at least work for eye makeup.

You can thank someone else here on the forum who years ago said a magnifying mirror changed their life. 😉 Among other things I can see all the hairs I need to pluck, too!

klmama
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll think about the mirror idea.

My suction cup one occasionally pops itself off and rolls away when I'm not watching.
City Mouse
Depending how far you have st stand from the mirror, start with your usual near prescription. That working distance will determine the magnification you will need. The near and distance are for two different things, so you would not add the together. I never thought of this as a solution to not being able to see when I put on my make-up! I absolutely require it. I got one from Costco that has a rechargeable light. I love that thing. This is the one I have, but I know I paid less at Costco. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/conair-reflections-1x-10x-led-double-sided-vanity-mirror-in-chrome/5628761?skuId=69748667&store=&enginename=google&mcid=PS_googlepla_nonbrand_bath_online&product_id=69748667&adtype=pla&product_channel=online&adpos=&creative=224104609828&device=m&matchtype=&network=g&utm_campaignid=71700000037211226&utm_adgroupid=58700004139974949&targetid=92700034063781089&gbraid=0AAAAAD2J7j7lBnIzzq7Mwh6ZqTUKmTLlx&gbraid=0AAAAAD2J7j7lBnIzzq7Mwh6ZqTUKmTLlx&gclid=CjwKCAjwoMSWBhAdEiwAVJ2ndvDFRymQZ4pQmaUKzaOnfbg3VfxZijbPRmlW9I1nm6joX5wxA259BxoC2r0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
