Not_a_Number Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 (edited) I really only know about the math contests, but the ones I've heard of are Math Kangaroo, MOEMS, Mathcounts, and the AMC contests. We've done the Math Kangaroo and are planning to do the AMC 8 this year. Edited September 4, 2021 by Not_a_Number 1 Quote

I did a Google search of the forums. A lot of the older threads have contests that no longer exist. I figured it was good to have a current listing. 1 Quote
8filltheheart Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 National Latin Exam My dd participated in regional Olympiadas of Spoken Russian. Olympiada of Spoken Russian - ACTR She did it, however, with her Russian teacher. I don't know if you can do it independently or not. They also offer a National Russian Essay Contest. (again, she did it through her teacher.) There is a new test, though, offered through NEWL. I haven't looked into it overly much bc my current Russian student is only in 6th grade, but it is offered through American Councils and I think any student can take these tests. NEWL | American Councils Quote The National Examinations in World Languages (NEWL) is an online proficiency exam for language learners of Arabic, Korean, Portuguese, and Russian seeking college placement and/or credit. As people add contests, competitions, and exams that are still existent, perhaps you could compile them into your first post -- maybe even group them. 😄 Edited September 4, 2021 by Lori D. 1 Quote
Lori D. Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 Looks like AoPS lists both National and State Math competitions -- don't know how many of those are still valid... These blog articles were all published in the past 1, 2, or 4 years: - Davidson Institute: "List of Academic Competitions for Gifted Students" - We Are Teachers: "Big List of Student Contests and Competitions" - Kudos Wall: "50 Competitions Every Student Should Know About" 2 Quote
jboo Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 NAQT allows homeschool co-ops and homeschool families to participate in their Middle and High School trivia competitions, including (if qualified by tournament performance) the national school and individual championships. Quote
