yslek
Earlier this evening, some people down the street were firing off fireworks. For quite a while. :001_huh::001_huh::001_huh: Anyone know why someone would choose this day for fireworks? Is it a foreign holiday I don't know about? (I think it might be the neighbors that my MIL went down the street to meet; they speak little English.) It just seems really weird. Peek a Boo
because some of us are pyros and will shoot off fireworks any day of the year if we can get them ;)
readwithem
Their football team won a big game today?
klmama
I have no idea if this is it, but my online calendar says that Nov. 29 is International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. I suspect it was someone's birthday or wedding, though.
Melissa B
Maybe the start of Advent???
elegantlion
Getting ready for Christmas? I grew up in the mid-west and never saw fireworks except for 4th of July. Now I live in the south and Christmas to New Years is a big fireworks week. Perhaps they are getting started early.
newbie
That happened the other day, on Thanksgiving. We didnt have them for the fourth. But lo and behold, fireworks for Turkey Day. I think we are in a time warp.
yslek
Thanks for the ideas! I doubt it's to celebrate Solidarity Day; if they shoot off fireworks again tonight, I'll figure it's Christmas-season-related. The dc really got a kick out of it, at least. They had a perfect view of the fireworks from the play-area window. :)
