chocolate-chip chooky
As we often do, we headed off on an odd tangent in our learning yesterday and ended up reading all about the debacle of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. What a crazy series of events! We'd love to read some more, so I'd welcome any suggestions. My daughter is 12. Thanks heaps ?

Jean in Newcastle
I thought that this was interesting. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/8-things-didnt-know-franz-ferdinand It does reference a couple of books that they used for reference, though I believe that they are books written for adults.
alisoncooks
Has she read Westerfeld's Leviathon trilogy? It might be fun to compare fact vs. fiction. :)

She's keenly waiting on books 2 and 3 to come into our library on hold.

Thank you ? We were both fascinated by the incredible series of events in his assassination. It reads like a thriller novel, it's so incredible. Heathermomster
When DH and I visited the Czech Republic, we toured Konopiste Castle. The place was filled with all of the animals that he killed and stuffed including an elephant foot ashtray. Meriwether
She might enjoy reading the first couple of chapters of A World Undone. It is written for an older audience, but my Ds14 and Dd15 read it recently and liked it.
