wintermom
Oh yes, the delight of snow melted only to discover the pot holes ready to swallow any and all who dare to get too close. I've heard of cars getting damaged from slamming into pot holes. Our municipal workers are patching up some of the pot holes in our area, but as soon as a big truck runs over the patch it's no better than before. Anyone have a municipality that does a good job dealing with this? Or do you have more horror stories to share?
happi duck
I hate potholes! They make driving so stressful. Our town is pretty responsive but not all the neighboring towns. The other day I took an entirely different route because I remembered a certain stretch of road is usually terrible this time of year.
Miss Tick
I hit a pot hole on the highway a few years ago, and days and days later realized it had cracked the wheel rim. Sigh. Very expensive to replace a wheel. Edited March 9, 2017 by SusanC
Lady Florida.
Like mosquito season, pot hole season is year-round here. Our city is pretty good about keeping main roads fixed but not so good about neighborhoods. Our neighborhood had one on the main entrance road for years. It finally got fixed only when they resurfaced the road. Edited March 9, 2017 by Lady Florida.
Arcadia
SF Bay Area is famous locally for potholes and we don't even have snow. When we relocated here, my husband thought he had a flat tire because there is a horrible stretch near Stanford. I don't know who pays to repair on that stretch as Palo Alto city and Stanford U are affluent enough to pay for repairs. The city we lived in is decent about patching potholes but they will cordon off the lane being repaired for a long time. Can't really complain as my husband works 7 miles from home and the drive there and back doesn't have as many potholes as the drive to our kids outsourced class. wintermom
Like mosquito season, pot hole season is year-round here. Oh dear! Mosquitos AND pot holes year-round? Florida must not advertise this much, or the snow birds were stay up north more. ;) And you have alligators and scary bugs, too. It makes snow seem a little easier to take.
HSmomof2
I hit a fairly small one a couple days ago. Didn't damage the tire, but the very small crack in the windshield now goes halfway up the window.
SparklyUnicorn
It's always bad here. Midway down the alley I noticed someone piled a bunch of bricks into a hole. I mean A BUNCH. So it must be pretty deep.
