mamaraby
This last week on multiple occasions, I found myself with an Instant Pot full of food and needing my Instant Pot to make the other component of dinner. This happens to me often - usually with rice (I hate cooking rice on the stove), but sometimes with potatoes or other grains. I do not want a cheap rice cooker as they don't last. So, I'm pondering a Zojirushi NS-ZCC18 or a second Instant Pot DUO60. Has anyone else found themselves considering this same dilema? Or, does anyone else want to tell me about their favorite Zojirushi rice cooker? I considered a Cuckoo, but maybe too expensive. Multiple rice functions would be ideal as would a congee setting and the ability to reheat.
hopskipjump
I have both a rice cooker and an instant pot and I love, love, love my rice cooker. Cannot imagine life without it.
blondeviolin
You can do rice in the microwave...
mamaraby
You can do rice in the microwave... True. Quantity wise it's just not practical for our family.
mumto2
I have never had a rice cooker so maybe I would love one but if the cost is similar I would probably go with the instant pot because it is more versatile. Many other sides including potatoes easily and it makes nice rice. ;)
FriedClams
I have two instant pots. I just love love love the ease and speed. I use Brown rice, so it's quicker in the IP and much more useful to have two ip long term than s rice cooker (for us).
Prairie~Phlox
I'd say two Instant Pots.
marbel
I haven't been thrilled with the rice from the Instant Pot. My old rice cooker did a much better job. It was a cheap one (Aroma brand) that lasted over 10 years! (Of course maybe it's just me, doing rice the wrong way in the IP. I've seen much conflicting advice on the topic.) xixstar
I would do a second IP. I am happy with the rice from ours and I often want to cook multiple things in the pressure cooker so it would be more practical.
