HomeMum
Saw this on facebook, thought I'd share here since I don't think I've seen it yet....delete this if I'm wrong. There are over 130,000 educational videos What very few people know is that most states can provide Lynda access for free! Your library card, more often than not, will gain you free access. This is not something that is highly publicized and advertised. Go check with your library. Even if your library doesn't have this you can still get a temporary New York library card that will get you 3 months of access to Lynda for free. you can do this in any state. Source and full article.
luuknam
I don't think you're supposed to get a temporary New York library card unless you actually are in New York. I mean, I just can't imagine that we decided that we're cool with our taxes being used that way. At least I'm not. Talk your own state into buying a subscription.
Shifra
I just found out last week that my local library offers this (and I don't live in New York). Find out if your library offers this.
ForeverFamily
This is perfect timing, I have been considering signing up for Lynda.com. I hadn't even thought to check my library, and it looks like they have it! Thank you! ETA: I don't live in New York either. HomeMum
I read a comment that said you can pretty easily get a temporary NY library card without a problem. Libraries are used to providing inter-library loans and having students use their resources.
