Lawana
My mother is hospitalized for some fairly serious issues and I am with her. About an hour and a half ago, her IV antibiotic finished delivering resulting in the pump alarming. In an effort to silence the alarm, I accidentally turned off the pump, stopping the delivery of IV fluids that are critical to one of the health issues. I immediately pressed the call button and said we needed help with the pump. After 40 minutes with no response, I called again. The tech came in to check vitals and we told her. She called the nurse directly, also conveying another distressing symptom. It has now been 25 minutes since that exchange. What would you do now? Insertcreativenamehere
In some hospitals, they have a rapid response team you can call if you feel you are not getting the care you need. It's usually posted in the room, so if there is not such a poster, I would go look for help immediately. Find the charge nurse or try to reach a patient advocate. Scarlett
I would probably stand in the hallway and yell for help.
gardenmom5
go to the nurses station and stand there asking for help until a nurse does something productive.

lauraw4321
I would walk to the station and say this is the problem and not leave until someone comes with me.
Spryte
Yes. Go to the just nursing station. Also, consider calling hospital's patient advocate, once this is resolved. Hoping for the best possible resolution, quickly.
