HeatherL
Hi, My son is working on a cub scout elective and is supposed to ask some questions to someone who is a vet, vet tech, or runs an animal shelter. We don't know anyone in real life and won't be taking our animals to the vet anytime soon. He's done this sort of thing in the past with our vet (mainly because he has wanted to be a vet since he was three), but you're supposed to work on the scout stuff during the year you are that rank and we haven't taken our animals in this year at all. If there is anyone out there who wouldn't mind messaging with my son a few times (here through my account), please let me know. Thanks! Garga
Does ktgrok work at a vet clinic? Maybe ask her in a PM.

ktgrok
Former vet tech. I worked in vet hospitals for almost 20 years, but have been out of the business for about 5 years now. I'm happy to help if I can.
athomeontheprairie
There are some amazing people on here that you can hopefully contact. But could you call the vet and ask if you can come by and asking them questions? I know for certain that our vets here do this and I worked for two shelters and both of them would've been fine if you stopped in unannounced
Joyofsixreboot
Isn't critterfixer a vet?
Jane in NC
I volunteer at a shelter for injured wild birds. While this is quite different than the usual vet tech experience, I'd be happy to answer your son's questions. Send me a PM!
