Tsutsie
Except for BJU, I'm not finding any other online biology or life sciences program for this age group. Any ideas?
My3girls
We used Ck12 supplemented with documentaries and a few library books.

saja1029
My son enjoyed Life Science from Time4Learning. It is considered middle school level, grades 6 - 8th. He watched the lectures, took notes, quizzes, and there are some writing assignments also. He enjoyed it and learned a lot. Sheri
yvonne
Potter's School has life science for Grades 7 & 8 using Science Shepherd. Wilson Hill Academy has life science using Prentice Hall Science Explorer Life Science. (Click on "Register" tab on left... "Sciences" on subject list.)
crazyforlatin
Classical Resource Learning Center will be (hopefully) adding more science classes this year. So far they only have astronomy and meteorology. http://www.clrconline.com/science.html
EndOfOrdinary
If you have an iPad, E. O. Wilson's Life on Earth iBook is very much self directed and digital, but not exactly online. It is definitely in the light high school, squarely middle school range.
CafeDiem
I just enrolled my DS in Kolbe's Life Science program for next year. We haven't used their online program before so I can't say yet whether we like it or not. I do like that they use secular text books. Life Science uses the mini-courses by Holt. http://www.kolbe.org/
melmichigan
Landry Academy also has Pre-biology classes for this age group.

melmichigan
Online G3, WTMA, Blue Tent, and AIM Academy all have bio. Be sure to read the descriptions carefully, many of these are aimed at high schoolers.
Tsutsie
There is really not much rigorous online science for middle-schoolers out there.
