Night Elf Posted July 31, 2014 Share Posted July 31, 2014 I don't usually eat breakfast but decided to have a hard boiled egg. I put it on the stove to boil. A few minutes later I remembered I wanted to go pick up my eyeglasses from the eye doctor's office before lunch, so figured I could run out the door. I totally forgot the egg was on the stove and I left the house. My son is sleeping. I remembered it when I was on my way back home. Meadowlark Posted July 31, 2014 Share Posted July 31, 2014 I did this last summer. I put eggs on to boil, and walked across the street to meet my new neighbor for the first time. I came back in, smelled smoke and pulled the pan off the stove. Immediately I put cold water on the eggs and guess what happened? Yep, they exploded! Scary actually, it almost hit me in the eye. Kim in Appalachia Posted July 31, 2014 Share Posted July 31, 2014 I'm gald everything turned out ok. I've learned not to leave the kitchen if I start something, and I use a timer for everything. I've walked away and forgot about stuff on the stove too many times, and I can tell I'm getting worse, so now I don't leave or I put the timer on (or both).
