Sunshine Mama
-elementary (will be used for my 3rd grader) -secular -very hands on, experiment based -easy, open and go And most of all FUN!!
WeeBeaks
Perhaps Real Science Odyssey? We did the earth science one year, but honestly it was too hands on for our family but may suit yours for just that reason. I love the publisher, and we use their history. We use Elemental Science and do like it, but it is not as hands on as the above. I like their logic stage better than grammar stage though in their "classic" products. We like their Sassafras books, but they are very light and not really hands on unless you count notebooking. Both are secular, and both very open and go for me. You can add on extra books but the core is there for you. Building Foundations of Scientific Understanding is solid, secular and very hands on. But it needs more prep than RSO or Elemental. What have you already used with your others and eliminated apparently? :) Mine all seem to like different products, of course.

73349
RSO was what I thought of, too. You do need some supplies for it, though.

SevenDaisies
RSO sounds like a match.
Staceyshoe
Ellen McHenry would meet that criteria. Really fabulous resource. Most of the units are fairly short, so you can either add to them (with living books, lapbooking, etc) to stretch them or fit them in along with another curriculum. Curlymom
Another vote for Real Science Odyssey! It is very open and go, although it is definitely helpful to read the lesson ahead of time for preparation. We have also done Elemental science and find that RSO is much more engaging. Roadrunner
I am not sure McHenry is best used in 3rd grade. I have heard the most hands-on, secular option is Supercharged Science, but it's pricey.
