Have you tried it?

I have already gone through looking at the iTunes apps available but really hate that you can't try before you buy.   I need some first hand experiences.

I think Menu Planner has what you're looking for(iPhone, ipad, and iPod touch).

I want to know if I can import recipes

Can I copy and paste recipes

Can I type in my own recipes

Can I make a weekly plan

will it also create a shopping list of ingredients?

If I import (or type in) calories and nutritional information, will it store it and list it when I make the menu plan for the week?

thanks,

Dawn

I have imported recipes. What would you like to know? I haven't used it to its potential.

I use On the Table.

It imports recipes, and makes shopping lists.  It also uses your local grocery store's sales flyers to make meal suggestions using items on sale.

I have the lifetime membership but I paid $0 for it.  If you google for coupon codes, several will come up.  They will appear to be expired - but try them anyway.   :)  My coupon code was expired, and worked fine.

I also have MacGourmet, but never use it any more.

ETA: Sorry, it's called Food on the Table, not "On the Table" ... Oops!

I starting using Pepperplate based on a suggestion from a thread here awhile back. It's fairly easy to use. My main complaint is that the list of supported sites for automatically importing recipes doesn't include some of the blogs where I get a lot of recipes. It's not difficult, though, to manually add a recipe so overall that's a minor complaint. If you are planning on adding lots of recipes, make sure to add descriptive tags to be able to filter your list later. Otherwise, your list isn't organized and it can be overwhelming to sort through.

I also wish it had a spot in the planner section for adding prep reminders for meals, for instance if I need to put something in the crockpot by 9 am. I get around this by adding it on to the nearest meal. So if I need to prep something the night before, I will make a note in the Dinner section; if I need to get something prepped in the morning for lunch or dinner, I'll make a note in the breakfast section.
