Jenn in FL
Last night as we were getting into bed, both of our cell phones rang at the same time :confused1: (our numbers are identical except for the last digits which are consecutive.) Each phone only rang one time. My husband's phone had a number that came up with Barbados under it. Mine had a number with Grenada under it. We ignored them, however this morning I googled both numbers and apparently it is a widespread scam trying to get folks to return the calls they "missed." Evidently once the call is robo answered on the other end, people are charged upwards of $9.99 per minute for making the call. Just an FYI... FWIW.
DawnM
I have been reading about those.

PinkyandtheBrains.
I've had 2-3 of the calls from Grenada, one ring then nothing.
Ann.without.an.e
I have had calls from antigua/barbuda. Didn't answer, thankfully.
Hen
I've had two from Antigua and my husband has had several of these hang up calls. We heard about the scam and didn't call back, and I warned my kids.
magnificent_baby
I have gotten two of them. A local news station did a story on it a few days ago. Apparently if you call back, it's an adult hotline and are instantly charged $20 then $9/minute. Sounds like they target specific towns at one time, so be sure to spread the word to your local friends if you get those calls.
Cinder
I hadn't heard about this one. Good thing I never return calls I've missed. Thanks for the heads up, though!
Alessandra
I had not heard of this. Thank you for the heads up.
Wildcat
Thanks for posting this. Dh and I have both received calls from other countries. We just hang up on them/refuse to answer, figuring they were off shore telemarketers. I wondered what was going on, and now I know. I shall pass the message along.... antsam
Huh... I had three Antigua/Barbados calls yesterday. I wasn't going to call back anyway, but I hadn't heard about this so thanks for posting. Jodie
