Wildcat
I am out of ideas, and Googling is no help with the parameters I need, so I am turning to the Hive. I need an appetizer/finger food to take to a potuck (I have *finally* been invited to a "Potluck"!) New Year's party. Here is my issue---- I need something that will transport easily in the car 25 minutes, AND be able to sit out on a table (until it is eaten and/or for a few hours). OK, Ladies..... I'm listening! :bigear:

OrganicAnn
If you have a small crockpot you can do meatballs.
Bambam
I second the taco roll ups. I use salsa vs. taco seasoning though. I typically make a large number before the holidays and freeze them. Then I can pull them out as needed, thaw them in frig, and slice right at the party. Baked Potato dip and chips. It won't last long. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/baked-potato-dip-ii/ Queso and chips. mommymonster
I do cheese fondue in a crock pot. Prepare the fondue over the stove. Pour it into the crock pot before you leave for the party. Bring a few loaves of bread and you're good to go. Do be sure to plug in the crock pot (on warm/low) when you arrive. This recipe delivers: http://gustavs.net/recipes/rheinlander-cheese-fondue (the processed Swiss cheese is the sliced Swiss cheese you get near the Kraft singles). I have a group of people who just park in front of the crock pot and eat this recipe until it's gone. It's a little unnerving.
Mrs Mungo
The last event I took food to I brought meatballs (in my crockpot, I cooked them in the oven, then put them in the crockpot with sauce, heating them once I arrived) and 7 layer dip. I had no food to transport home, while many people did. ;)

I haven't been on much lately and didn't realize there was a recent thread, although I should have known. I think I found it. Since we can't tag threads other than our own, I'll link to it in case this comes up again: http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/498561-favorite-appetizers-for-christmas-wow-items-that-dont-require-too-much-work/?hl=%2Bappetizer&do=findComment&comment=5385400 Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions--- I knew about some of them, but somehow, didn't think of them. I'm sure I can find something the crowd will enjoy!
