klmama
I know some other homeschoolers who tried this board and didn't feel like it was a good fit, and I wish they could find an online discussion venue that would work for them. What sites would you suggest they visit?
Incognito
The only other fairly large, somewhat active one I am familiar with is on a natural parenting board - mother ing [dot] com.
Jilly
Secular Homeschool is a good site with an active forum.
Catwoman
So are they saying we weren't good enough for them? ;)
mom@shiloh
I'm curious as well. I used to like the Sonlight Forums. When they became more closed, I came over here, but I've wondered if there are other forums. I'd like it if my local yahoo group involved more discussion type posts, but it seems like people like a bit more anonymity.
mytwomonkeys
Mothering is the only one I go too besides TWTM
MerryAtHope
Rainbow opened one recently, but it's not very busy yet: Our Homeschool Forum The Homeschool Lounge The Homeschool Library (started when SL became more closed, but many other hsers there too) There are all kinds of groups on yahoo as well--especially if they use certain curriculum. Go to yahoo groups and do a search to see what comes up. I've been seeing more groups pop up on FB too. Merry :-)
dbmamaz
it would help if you told us in what way it was not a good fit . . too secular? too religious? too rigorous? are they looking for unschooling support?
klmama
it would help if you told us in what way it was not a good fit . . too secular? too religious? too rigorous? are they looking for unschooling support? LOL! All of the above! Some want one thing, some another. Thanks for all the ideas. I'll pass them on.
Cinder
I used to visit The Homeschool Library linked above. It's a good group, not quite as active as TWTM. I couldn't keep up with two separate groups so I didn't quite find my place there. So I stopped going there. One I used to visit a very long time ago is Christian Homeschool Fellowship. I think I must have stopped visiting there when I found TWTM, but it's been so long ago I don't really recall.
