Halcyon
So far this year he has read The Search for Delicious, The Lemonade War, the Tale of Desperaux, Stuart Litlle (again), The Phantom Tollbooth, Because of Winn Dixie...all in 4 weeks, which is MUCH faster than his older brother reads, and I need some ideas. He loved them all, but his favorite book of all time is Tiger Rising. We are heading to the library today, suggestions appreciated.

Chris in VA
Mary Pope Osborne's Odyssey series Anything written by Sid Fleischman, but particularly Chancey and The Grand Rascal (if you can find it). (We had to stay away from a lot of realistic fiction because of the all-too real circumstances with dd's brother, so we turned to historical fiction, funny stories, and uber-sweet stuff (like Milly-Molly-Mandy and Betsy-Tacy). For example, My Side of The Mountain has the main character running away from home, and dd's brother did that several times. It wasn't so wonderful as in the book. So, if you are doing realistic fiction, just be ready to discuss stuff, that's all I'm saying.)

Hunter
As a child I never had access to enough books to satisfy me. This was better in the long run, because it forced me to read a greater variety of books that I otherwise would have. I wouldn't make it too easy for him to read more of the same. Elderly men are always shocked at how much I know about World War 2 submarines and ships. Would he like the Clutter Free Genre kit as a challenge? http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/GENRE-POSTERS-AND-ACTIVITIES-KIT-featuring-Thistlegirl-Designs-Clipart-105276
