What "birth control" do you use?

I always say that getting snipped was one of dh's greatest gifts to our marriage :)

 

I was so petrified of another pregnancy loss that it really harmed that portion of our relationship.

We've never not been actively trying so never used birth control. Apparently I am not very fertile... Three babies and 2 m/c in 12 years. I'm 39 now so no longer expecting to get pregnant...but if we did I would be happy about it...so we've never had to use birth control.

DH took permanent measures early last year.

 

There were two side effects. One of them is 3 weeks old and lying on my lap. The other is that DH's going to have to do it again.

Until a year and a half ago, we didn't use anything as we gladly would have welcomed more children.  

A year and a half ago, I had a full hysterectomy due to multiple issues.  THE BEST THING EVER!  I should have done it 15 years ago!

Our third was a surprise and is at the far limits of what I can handle. We went the v route and dh had a rougher recovery and some lingering negative side effects, but we'd do it all over again, just would have done it sooner. It really has been a huge benefit for our relationship as I would have always worried about the possibility another surprise. I know my limits.

DH had a vasectomy 3 months after our 3rd child, his choice. He had an easy recovery and no side effects.

Tubal ligation with my last c-section. Doctor cut, sutured, and BURNED the ends so if it still grows back then I wasn't listening to God when I made the decision. (Said tongue-in-cheek.) I may get baby fever, but I almost died with the first two and the third I was incapacitated with HG for 5 months and then on bed rest because of pre-eclampsia, week long hospital stay, and had to have my baby at 36 weeks (4lb 10 oz) soooooo, yeah, not going through all that again. :glare:

I voted tubal, but actually I have essure. No issues with it whatsoever.
