Caitilin
I just saw it with dh. Fun movie, but curious about others' perceptions. :)
Stacia
Dh & I almost went to see this tonight, but we picked "Trance" instead. We may go see "Oblivion" tomorrow.
Remudamom
We just got back. Didn't like it but the popcorn was good.
Just Another Jen
We saw it. I liked it, but know that it's a mash up of every scifi movie ever made. Plus they made the people of the future dress like a steam punk middle earth crew.
Caitilin
Ok, how did you guys perceive the relationships between the sexes?
Giraffe
I'm going to see it this week. I could use a little brain candy.
MFG
Ok, how did you guys perceive the relationships between the sexes? Damsels in distress, waiting to be rescued by ... Tom Cruise???

Plus they made the people of the future dress like a steam punk middle earth crew. It sure was, I recognized Star Wars, Inception and a lot of others that I can't remember right now. I just thought it was boring. Started waaay too slow and beat the memories to death.
Caitilin
Damsels in distress, waiting to be rescued by ... Tom Cruise??? Yeah, very much so. Very, umm, Mad Men-esque--beautiful woman in wiggle dress waiting patiently for her all-American man who loves fishing and football...and then the end where the woman is incomplete without her man. I found the meta-message kinda icky, I guess, and was curious what others thought of it.
PrincessMommy
We *love* Sci-Fi movies but have no plans to see it. I try very hard not to let an actor's personal life get in the way of his movie roles, but I won't even pretend with Cruise. Just. can't. Ick. mommaduck
I was going to wait till it hit Redbox, but now I'm not sure I want to see it even then. Tom Cruise is a turn off to me. Stealing from other Sci Fi favs is a turn off. Morgan Freeman would be the only reason left.
Caitilin
Morgan Freeman's part is fairly small compared to the length of the movie; if that's all you'd see it for,I recommend you don't bother. :)
Amber in SJ
This is one of those movies where we amuse ourselves by building our own version of what should have happened and deciding on which alt. version of the movie would have been better :) I was just happy to be on a date. And there were a couple of glaring mistakes that made you think "Whoops! That object should not be there." Amber in SJ
