Unfortunately one of the weakest areas, in my list, is the New Testament. I would be most interested to see what other members would deem the top 10, or so, quotes/verses from the New Testament. Peek a Boo Posted August 3, 2008 Share Posted August 3, 2008 how old are your kiddos? my kids memorize "basic faith" verses at the elementary level [like from the AWANA books], but more controversial passages [baptism/ submission/ communion/ marriage/ etc] at the teen level. Chris in VA Posted August 3, 2008 Share Posted August 3, 2008 So Y'all are going to make me look every one of these up, arn'cha? :D:D I'll throw in the Beatitudes, the first few verses of John, and the "Roman Road." I also like to have them memorize the part that deals with the Resurrection--"Very early the next morning..." and Thomas' experience w/Jesus. laylamcb Posted August 3, 2008 Share Posted August 3, 2008 Many of our verses are tied to the Westminster Shorter Catechism. Also, I tend to focus more on chapters than individual verses. Brindee Posted August 3, 2008 Share Posted August 3, 2008 My children and I memorized James 1. I love James! DS17 has most of chapter 2 memorized now as well. Rod & Staff puts out a little pamphlet of verses they have kids memorize, based on grade age..... It's called "Teaching Bible Memory, and tells how to go about it, then breaks it down how they do it and why. It's just a small little pamphlet and very clear and easy to follow.
