MercyA
I need to make a fruit salad for a family gathering. I have a huge bag of frozen strawberries, mangos, peaches, and pineapple in the freezer. I usually use frozen fruit only for smoothies. If I use it to make a fruit salad, will it be too mushy when thawed? Is there anything you would recommend adding (some type of fruit juice, yogurt, etc.)? Yes, I am clueless when it comes to preparing food. Thanks for your help! Brilliant
Yes, I think it will be too mushy when thawed. I wouldn't serve it to anyone except my kids. :)
TammyinTN
I tried this recently...definitely go with fresh fruits. It was mushy as all get out.
MercyA
Okay! Thanks so much for the helpful input! :001_smile: Does anyone have a quick and easy fruit salad recipe? Something a little fancier than just cut-up fruit, but not too complicated?

Carrie Sue
I used frozen fruit all the time in this salad (Champagne Salad) The "dressing" is a block of cream cheese blended with 3/4c sugar, then folded into cool whip. After that is blended, you add the fruit. Technically, it is supposed to be strawberries, bananas, and canned crushed pineapple, but I've used mixed berries, peaches, etc...and it is all good! You can freeze it after it's mixed, too and thaw a little before serving.
Carrie Sue
Another easy fruit salad recipe is all sorts of cut up fruit + one can of peach pie filling. SO yummy!
magnificent_baby
My aunt makes these for special occasions. Really good and (I would think) you could use your frozen fruit.
