Halcyon
My younger son is putting together a newsletter for homeschool students grades 1-8. If your student has any art, interviews, poetry, fiction, stuff about their hometown, anything that they would like to submit, we will be "accepting submissions" (he likes the phrase!) until March 15. The first issues will be out after that and will be accessible online to everyone (probably via my blog but I will post a link here too). Please send submissions to me at nyc scraps @ yahoo. com (no spaces). Thanks!!!

Really, you can submit almost anything....like stuff your student has already written for school hint hint. whew! we're low on output even WITH school stuff: that's a relief! Maybe tomorrow we can find something. anything. really, it'll be a hunt (unless you take math worksheets) ...
Halcyon
Oh yay! Really, a drawing, a poem, a biography, an interview with a neighbor, or talking about your neighborhood, or favorite activity.....It could be a really fun thing to see their name in print! ByGrace3
My dd wrote some haikus a couple of weeks ago, I will try to find them! :)
Bang!Zoom!
This is a wonderful idea. You should post this one on ALL the subcategory boards. I think a WTM students newsletter would be something I go way out of my way to read.
Halcyon
Yay! I am glad you like the idea, one mom. I will post it on other boards tonight-I am swamped today.. Thanks for the encouragement!
Bang!Zoom!
Do contact Jen on the afterschooling board also, she has a tremendous feel for these things and might be able to join/offer some really creative support. You two would make great friends on this topic. She's pure positivity.

AimeeM
Oh that's wonderful! Maybe the very idea of "submitting" would get my reluctant, dyslexic writer to come up with something (although I do know she has tons of artwork around here too, lol). Kirch
I'll have to suggest this to ds 8. He would LOVE it. Of course, we might need to discuss the idea of original content and gently steer away from Avengers-Batman-Harry Potter 6 (or whatever number he's on now!). :)
Kirch
I told ds about this and he sat down and immediately started writing a story. :)
