shanvan
as a birthday gift for an 11 year old girl who has everything? Tomorrow is Dd's birthday and her only request was to attend a dog show this weekend. We went, she showed her dog and won. So do I run out and get her something small for tomorrow, or leave it at that? The show was a big deal. We had to be up by 5am, drove 2 hrs each way for two days in a row --and I had to have her dog groomed too. It was quite a production and we are still tired. I offered to buy her something at the show, but she didn't want anything other than a soda.
Karen in CO
At 11, I started buy my dd jewlery - a pretty necklace. She may not appreciate it as much now as she will when she gets older, but it is something she can keep.N Now she spends her own money on jewlery too, so I guess she is starting to like it. Desert Rat
Congrats on her win! And what a nice momma to go the extra mile and wake up so early and dedicate so much time (and money) for her! I'd say that's gift enough. Although, I would probably make her a nice dinner and cake to celebrate. Edited to add: If she won a ribbon, I might buy a nice frame to put it in! hmvaughan4
Perhaps dinner out or a nice dinner of her choice?
shanvan
I should have added that we are having a special dinner and cake with family.
Jenny in Florida
Do you have a photo or memento from the day you could frame? That would be my first choice, in your situation. If I coudln't do that, I might consider finding or making some token to remind her of the day (a figurine that looks like her dog?).
Anne
I like the memento idea - was there a program? Frame it with the ribbon or a picture of her and her dog, or just the dog, or...
readinmom
Is there a collectible that you could get to represent the dog that she showed? I also like the photo, program idea...
