Guest Homeschoolmom1
My daughter has been listening to audio books for years, and I'm running out of ideas. She's finished Pollyanna, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate factory, the fantastic Mr. Fox, Pinocchio, the wind in the willows, some Winnie the pooh, mary Poppins, some Little House and others I can't think of off the top of my head. She's listening to Alice in wonderland now, and Heidi next. Any suggestions?
Greenmama2
Jungle Book, Narnia.
Guest Homeschoolmom1
She's listened to the Jungle Book, and we're waiting for Narnia from the library. Thanks though! She's also listened to Charlotte's web and the wizard of oz.

aggieamy
This is going to be a long list because DD is almost a professional audiobook listener. We once asked her if she'd rather not have a TV or not have audiobooks and she told us she'd give the TV up in a heartbeat. :) I'll narrow it down to books she loves and highly recommends: Abby Carnelia’s One and Only Magical Power Around the World in 80 Days Ballet Shoes Because of Winn-Dixie All Ramona books (her absolute favorite!) The BFG Bunnicula Enola Holmes mysteries (DD says these aren't good to listen to at bedtime because they are "intense". I think she means that she wants to know what happens next not that they are violent.) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Cheaper by the Dozen The Children of Green Knowe Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (She said this was FANTASTIC.) Chronicles of Narnia The Cricket in Times Square Danny the Champion of the World Dominic Dragon Rider Dragonsdale Ella Enchanted Everything on a Waffle Fantastic Mr. Fox Farmer Boy Freaky Friday From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Frankweiler Georges Marvelous Medicine Gooney Bird Greene Half Magic Half Moon Investigates Harriet the Spy (This is another all time favorite. She's listened to it at least twenty times.) Heidi Henry and Beezus Henry and the Clubhouse Henry and the Paper Route Henry Huggins Holes Hoot How to Be a Pirate How to Train Your Dragon The Incorrible Children of Ashton Place The Incredible Journey Island of the Blue Dolphins James and the Giant Peach Just So Stories Justin Morgan had a Horse Little House in the Big Woods Little House on the Prairie A Little Princess Little Women The Magicians Elephant The Magicians Nephew (dramatized) Miracle on Maple Hill Misty of Chincoteague The Mouse and the Motorcycle Mr. Popper’s Penguins Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH Mrs. Piggle Wiggle My Side of the Mountain The Mysterious Benedict Society NERDS On the Banks of Plum Creek One Beastly Beast The Penderwicks (another all time favorite) The Penderwicks at Pointe Mouette The Penderwicks of Gardam Street Peter Pan Pippi Longstockings Rabbit Ears series Ribsy The Secret Garden Sherlock Holmes for Children Shiloh The Sign of the Beaver The Sister Grimm - The Unusual Suspects The Sisters Grimm – Fairy Tale Detectives Skulduggery Pleasant (We listened to this as a family. Some parents wouldn't be comfortable with the subject matter so investigate it first.) Stuart Little Superfudge The Swiss Family Robinson The Sword in the Stone A Tale Dark and Grimm The Tale of Despereaux Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing Treasury for Children Tuck Everlasting Turtle in Paradise The Twenty-One Balloons Understood Betsy Where the Mountain Meets the Moon The Wind in the Willows The Witches The Witch of Blackbird Pond The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Young Fredle Zorgamazoo 101 Dalmatians 26 Fairmount Avenue

Tracy
Have you seen the book lists used for WWE? That is where we have gotten our last few read-alouds, and a lot of them are in the public domain, so you can get free audio books. We are currrently reading Five Children and It, which is fabulous. We have also enjoyed All of a Kind Family recently.

DD has listened to all of these that are available at our library or librivox and has read most of the others. She loves books in all forms! A couple of others that have been hits here are the books by Thorton W. Burgess and Aesop's fables, all avialable at Librivox. She has listened to these often over the past couple of years and now DSs like them too. :)

Just click on each one and scroll down about 4 or so pages.

I'm bookmarking that ... thanks so much! and thanks to sunriseiz for asking! to the OP: esp. if you are Christian, a dramatized Pilgrim's Progress might be good -- we like the Orion's Gate version here.
