Moxie
I have my annual appointment next week so I will certainly be mentioning this, I'm just curious right now. I noticed a few months ago that my Adam's Apple feels enlarged. It feels tight and a little uncomfortable. I can feel that it is larger with my fingers (i never noticed it before so that might be in my head) and I can feel something when I swallow. I don't think it is thyroid because the thyroid is lower in the neck. Any thoughts?
Jean in Newcastle
My first thought was thyroid.
Moxie
Seems high to be thyroid but I'll be getting that checked.
Parrothead
Could be thyroid. But my slightly enlarged thyroid is just under my Adam's apple. Don't google it. Nothing good comes of that.
J-rap
My first thought is thyroid too. They're in the same general area, aren't they?
gardenmom5
my four for thyroid.
Parrothead
I googled "enlarged adam's apple in women" and every hit was about thyroid. It could be because of my recent searching about my thyroid disease though.
Perry
Seems high to be thyroid but I'll be getting that checked. It's all attached though, so if your thyroid is enlarged or inflamed it can make the Adams's Apple feel sore also.
Moxie
Honestly, I hope it is my thyroid. I've been tired and *off* for years. My thyroid has always been normal enough that they won't treat it. I hope that the d@mn thing is finally messed up enough to be treated. gardenmom5
have they tested the t3 and t4 seperately from the tsh? that can make a difference.
bethben
I had a cyst on my thyroid when I was 15. It moved like an adam's apple. It looked like it was about the same place too when I swallowed. Mine was hyperactive. They removed half of it and I still have half which works just fine. Beth
Moxie
Update: I'm not crazy! I had an ultrasound on my thyroid and I have a cyst. Not sure what that means; I need to see an endocronologist now.
