cam112198
I was thinking about switching from R&S 2 to FLL for my second grader. Do I have to start in the beginning or can I skip to the second grade part? Thank you!
ByGrace3
You can start in FLL 2. There is review of everything covered so far.

SilverMoon
Agreed. Just start at 2. If you were concerned about missing level 1 or just wanted extra review, a second grader could get through it in less than a month. Do a few lessons each day and skip redundant lessons. cam112198
Wow! You guys are quick! Thank you!! I love R&S for 3rd and up, but I'm not enjoying grade 2 as much.
alisoncooks
So, what about a 2nd grader with no grammar experience whatsoever? Would you still suggest starting at FLL2?
SilverMoon
So, what about a 2nd grader with no grammar experience whatsoever? Would you still suggest starting at FLL2? Same answer. :001_smile: Agreed. Just start at 2. If you were concerned about missing level 1 or just wanted extra review, a second grader could get through it in less than a month. Do a few lessons each day and skip redundant lessons. (If you really want to run through book 1, getting the older combined 1/2 book from a used book site would be more economical.) skeeterbug
So, what about a 2nd grader with no grammar experience whatsoever? Would you still suggest starting at FLL2? Yup. FLL2 reviews what you need to know from FLL1. The only thing you'd be missing is the poetry memorisation from FLL1. Which is fun, but not necessary to start with FLL2. warneral
We actually started at FLL 3 with no need for earlier grammar instruction
ccolopy
We actually started at FLL 3 with no need for earlier grammar instruction Both of my kids also started FLL with Level 3 and had no trouble. For a 2nd grader, I think either FLL 2 or 3 would be fine.
Dory
I started all three of my kids in FLL2 as their intro into grammar and skipped grammar for grade 1.
Erica in OR
Wow! You guys are quick! Thank you!! I love R&S for 3rd and up, but I'm not enjoying grade 2 as much. Just to throw another suggestion into the mix. If you like R&S 3, you could just skip grammar for second grade and start up again in third grade with R&S 3. This is from someone who has had my kids do FLL 1/2 and then move into R&S 3 and continuing. Erica in OR
