UmMusa
I just found this book on the shelf today at the library and have been skimming it. However, it sounds almost like a Duggar handbook which made me wonder if there was any controversy around it or anything?? :D It's called Large Family Logistics by Kim Brenneman. UmMusa
I'm liking it, don't get me wrong. I was just wondering if anyone here has benefitted from it or if it's been discussed before!
Georgiana Daniels
I've never heard of it, but we don't really have a large family. I'm always looking for good resources on logistics in running a home, though. Hope you find some good nuggets you can use :)
amey311
http://www.amazon.com/Large-Family-Logistics-Kim-Brenneman/dp/1934554499/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351836251&sr=8-1&keywords=large+family+logistics - there are several reviews on amazon (and a wide range of "stars"). The author apparently has a blog, too, in case you're interested. http://largefamilylogistics.blogspot.com/ (I don't have a large family and I'm not interested in this book, but I like looking things up on amazon :) )
EmmaNZ
Salaams Umm M, I recently read this, and found bits of it helpful. Some parts were just so far away from what I can manage though. I'm just not enough of a domestic goddess apparently! No idea if it's controversial though.....
mom@shiloh
Haven't read it, but I have a friend who likes it. Appreciate and use what you can, throw out the rest.
UmMusa
Cool! I do plan to take what I like and leave the rest. As a practicing Muslim, I feel encouraged to read about people strong in their faith and who strive to please God. We have different beliefs on certain critical points, but leading a life aiming to follow the Lord's way is a common platform. So even though the book is heavy on scripture, I still feel encouraged to read from someone with similar goals. Plus, I can find parallel verses from the Quran and Hadith to support many of her concepts.
happypamama
I used to read her blog, but that was before I actually had a large family. I think she has some good advice.
Jean in Newcastle
I used to read her blog too and liked it. And I don't have a large family! But her tips on cooking and organization are helpful for anyone.
