Georgiana Daniels
Two books that I haven't read cover to cover but enjoyed browsing are Evolution: The Grand Experiment and Living Fossils, written by Dr. Carl Werner. If I remember correctly, he was a staunch evolutionist but eventually changed his mind based on his research. LOL, these threads never end well. So I'll duck out now :auto:
Lacie
http://www.apologeticspress.org/apcontent.aspx?category=9&article=2598 This is a good book. http://www.apologeticspress.org/APContent.aspx?category=9&topic=56 This links to a list of articles. http://www.apologeticspress.org/PDF-books.aspx And finally, here is a list of free PDF-books. I saw at least three that should cover young earth information.

We spent a little time around Dr. Werner in person (he's from St. Louis), and he was amazing--personable, smart, enthusiastic.

When my kids are older we will dive into these books.

GWOB
:lurk5: These discussions are always entertaining;). I've said it before and I'll say it again. My salvation is not found in Genesis. It's found in Jesus. Period.

joannqn
I want to look at this book: Explore Evolution: Arguments For and Against Neo-Darwism. Can't tell you anything about it since I haven't read it, but it looks interesting.

Leonana
I would also check out OEC site, such as Reasons to Believe or Answers in Creation. From what I've found, the YEC science is faulty, but it's hard to ascertain that, unless you do more research.
GWOB
I agree with you on this. I'm not looking for a debate, just more information, so I can make a more informed decision on where I stand personally. :) :grouphug: Oh Honey! I believe you when you say you don't want a debate. Really! These threads just seem to turn into "us vs. them" debates. It's not your fault at all. ETA: In the interest of furthering the discussion in an intellectual way, I will suggest the book The Language of God by Francis Collins. jar7709
If you really want to research yec vs oe, please don't neglect to study why the oe theories are dominant. I just began this book and so far it is wonderful, imo. Sympathetic to oral histories and religious origin stories, but clear as to current scientific understanding. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0393082393/ref=mp_s_a_1?pi=SL75&qid=1351657538&sr=8-
