NotSoObvious
Wow! We had the Jr. set given to my girls as a gift and they LOVE it! What sets should I be looking at next? Do any of you have the educational kits? Where do I go from here? These are amazing!
Alte Veste Academy
At that age I would recommend the biggest set you can afford and this student guide. In my opinion, the manuals that come with the sets are light on instruction but this book is worth its weight in gold. :001_smile:
NotSoObvious
Awesome! Yes, I agree. I'd like them to learn more of the science behind why things work, and I don't always know! :001_huh:
besroma
I recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000IXMP6Q/ref=mp_s_a_16?pi=SL75&qid=1346976857&sr=8-16 I much prefer the sturdy case to the box the either sets come in. This set also includes the student guide.

airforcefamily
I recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000IXMP6Q/ref=mp_s_a_16?pi=SL75&qid=1346976857&sr=8-16 I much prefer the sturdy case to the box the either sets come in. This set also includes the student guide. We have this one but one step smaller. It comes in the same box and you can get an expansion pack to make it the 750 model later. It came with the student guide that was mentioned. I got it off amazon, it was around $80 so not quite as big of a commitment as the $120 set. Momof3littles
We have the 750 kit and never regretted getting the larger one from the get-go. DS1 loves them and has been playing with them for years (he's 8.5). DD is showing an interest now at 5.5, so expect they'll be used for years, and there will be a period of time where 2 kids will be interested in them simultaneously. Lucy the Valiant
Our first set just came today! (We got the littler one that was on sale at Amazon.) Can't wait to break into it tomorrow after co-op!
Sew happily ever after
That same set on amazon was on sale on eBay for $99 free shipping a couple weeks ago as a buy it now price! I passed up a set for $10 at a flees market a year ago and have been kicking myself since!!!! We now have the 300 and my son LOVES it! besroma
I got that one and bought the 'battery eliminator' separately so we wouldn't have to fiddle with batteries. The case had a spot for it, even though it didn't come with it. It's very nice to have everything tucked away. I posted about it with pictures of what we got and the options out there if you are interested. http://www.new2homeschooling.com/2012/09/snap-circuits.html :iagree: We bought the battery eliminator also. :001_smile:
blessed3x
We have 3-4 sets and ds10 really enjoys them. Instead of the case, though, we store them in a plastic bin. Every time we get a new set it gets put in with the others. The manuals just lay on top inside. ;) BTW, the Green snap circuits was a lightening deal with Amazon last xmas. Watch for it again just in case.
PinkyandtheBrains.
We have the large educator one with all the manuals and disks to use it with computers. My boys love it, they are slowly working through the student books. If you can afford it, it is worth it!
tammyw
http://www.amazon.com/Elenco-SC-750-Snap-Circuits-Extreme/dp/B0002AHQWS/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1347026447&sr=1-1&keywords=snap+circuits+extreme+750 That's the one we have. My DS6 adores Snap Circuits. I think I'll get that battery eliminator. I wonder if the book that comes with ours is the book everyone is talking about? What's the difference? I want to find some other fun stuff for him to do also, but haven't figured out alternatives.
The Bobby Soxer
Did you know that Homeschool Share has a free snap circuit lapbook?!?!:D We are planning to use it later in the year but first I need to figure out which kit to buy.
