When to worry, Dr. Hive?

Recommended Posts

My almost 15month old....has not wet her diaper today.

When I got her up this morning, she had a tiny bit of loose stool and it was wet (normal).

But she hasn't wet it since (or had a BM).

The reason I'm extra worried is that she threw up the night before. Yesterday, she ate light and had popsicles and water.

She kept everything down. Diapers were okay. THen last night she got a fever I haven't been able to bring down completely.

Now she is "faking" drinks. She'll put it up to her mouth and make "num num" or smacking sounds but isn't really drinking.

She's *very* fussy and just hanging on me.

BTW, my dd had a tummy bug (and cold too) last week. My son had it this weekend.

My 6yo had the same symptoms as baby the night before last and yesterday but seems fine today.

My tummy is queasy and I feel like I've been run over by a MACK truck, but...

And hubby is home very sick (got the worst of it).

So we definitely have a bug. But at what point do I worry about her not even wetting her diapers?

UPDATE: We went to the ER. They said she didn't look bad, but she didn't have tears and something about her tongue. Anyway, so they gave her two bags of fluid and did bloodwork. Her temp was still 102.5. Hopefully she'll feel better in the morning.

So glad you took her! Dehydration is scary.

I am so glad you took her in. I usually start to worry and head for the dr if a little one like that hasn't wet in about 4-6 hours. Dehydration is nothing I want to mess with.

I hope she feels better in the morning.
