TrixieB
My teen dd needs insulated outdoor boots that are appropriate for farm chores and walking around in muddy fields in wet & cold conditions (temps around freezing, generally no snow). She tried Bog Boots but didn't like them. She said they're too wide and they feel sloppy (they slip around on her foot when she walks) and would be uncomfortable for doing much walking. The ones she tried on are low calf height -- not the shoe style or the tall style, but the in-between height. Maybe the tall style would not feel so loose/sloppy? Or is this type of boot supposed to fit loosely? Any suggestions for other brands she could try? ETA: She is outdoors all day, 6-7 hours. She leads ponies (so a lot of walking) and does pony & farm related chores. It rains a lot in winter, so she has a lot of cold mud to deal with. Acorn Island
Rocky are GREAT for outdoor applications -- waterproof, windproof, insulated. Recommended to me by a woman who rides horses and has her feet constantly in the wind. I highly recommend them!:001_smile:
WishboneDawn
I may be the weirdo but we all go to the local farm store and buy a pair of their generic rubber boots for tending to our poultry. In colder weather we wear wool socks over thinner socks.
Ottakee
Have her check out the Brit Middies (or tall ones). They are a bit tighter fitting than the bogs and have a heel on them safe for riding if she is going to do any of that. They are pricey but WARM and WATERPROOF. I have had mine for 5 years now and they are going strong. They should keep her feet warm in those temps, esp. with warm socks. I can stay warm in mine down to about zero if I am moving around some. Just tried looking and they might be unavailable but are worth it if you can find them. http://www.muckbootsonline.com/ Here are lots of other styles that are really good.
