Based on Faith Academy
If you have used these books for your children, are they evolution based? Is the fundamental thinking behind them the story of evolution or does it take a neutral standpoint? I am talking the science books that the WTM book recommends. Thank you for your help! TravelingChris
I don't think there was any evolution discussion in chemistry, which one of my kids used. The biology had a chapter, I think, but you can easily skip it.
Based on Faith Academy
Yes, this is exactly why I asked. I noticed the Biology book when I looked it up on Amazon had a mention of evolution. My worry is that I will buy that and not the normal Abeka books and it will continue on with evolution throughout the book.
AvasMom
If you want biology without the framework on which it is based (evolution) then you need to go with a publisher who also rejects evolution. Otherwise, yes it will come up as frequently as germ theory does in the study of disease. Evolution is the guiding principal of biology so it is highly unlikely that you will find a secular book where it only comes up in one chapter or as a mention. AvasMom
This is high school level I'm talking about, btw....since you mentioned the self-teaching guides. For younger students there are some publishers that are neutral. Elemental Science is one of them.
joannqn
The astronomy one is very heavy on evolution.
Based on Faith Academy
Thank you very much. I had a feeling this was so. I will just stick with Abeka.
Melissa in Australia
Another thing about those books is they have the answers written right after the questions. not even upside down! I bought the whole lot of them and couldn't use them for this reason. I ended up having ,o use Apologia.

I bought the whole lot of them and couldn't use them for this reason. I ended up having ,o use Apologia. We tried out the Biology book. It was too advanced for my kid at that time. But when he was doing it, we taped a piece of paper over the answers (removable tape) so he could not see them.
