  1. Yes. To me there are multiple ways to prove something with all the theorems and what not. What order do they go in? How do I know that I am proving it? Ex.. Given: angle B is a right angel; line segment AB is parallel to line segment DE Prove: triangle DEC is a right triangle
  2. Hello All! Let me just say, I love math. My daughter says I smile when I grade her school. For the life of me, I have never been able to wrap my head around geometry proofs. I get learning the definitions, theorems, and postulates. What I don't get is if there is an order to put them on the paper. To me, it would seem to be more like if then statements, but when I look at people's proofs they don't seem to follow a format. Trying to explain them to my daughter is like speaking a foreign language. At least when my son did them, I knew he had some idea. With my daughter, she is not math minded. Help me understand them so I can help her, please. If there is a book or a website, that would be fantastic. TIA, Christina
  3. Why do you think this isn't a good idea? We are actually using Power Point for the first time. She is making a slide show presentation for a STEAM fair.
  4. Good evening! I am looking for suggestions of sites that my daughter can use to create a yearbook for the middle and high schoolers in our church. Any suggestions? TIA, Christina
  5. Update into my pantyhose saga, Target pantyhose are super thin, run very easy, and snag like there is no tomorrow. I spent $9 on each pair and they were all run or had a hole in them within 1 or 2 times of wearing them.
  6. I tried these but they don't come up far enough on my stomach. They only go to XL so I can't even order a bigger size. Thanks anyways!
  7. Thank you for the suggestions. I'd prefer to stay away from tights. I'm really just want pantyhose.
  8. Good evening all. I am in need of the Hives knowledge. I need pantyhose for myself and can not seem to find anything that even works remotely, The previous places I bought them have either stopped selling them or I can no longer find them in my size. Being a 5'8 plus sized woman makes finding pantyhose hard. Plus most of the plus sized women I talk to do not wear pantyhose. They wear knee highs. Please Help!! TIA
  9. I am so excited!! I found every book that was suggested here in the public libraries around me. There are a few in stacks. I hope they are able to get them for me.
  10. This is a great idea, but unfortunately we are book people. We like to read about what we are learning. The other unfortunate thing is that I don't have a subscription to Audible,
  11. I really like these books, but I am confused about which one is really geared towards high school and which one is before. From what I was reading, it looks like they would go in the opposite order of what you are saying or am I losing it?
  12. Sorry for the delay in responding more to what each person said. I was able to read your responses from my phone and look up the books as I had a chance. I am finally delving into each of the recommendations. My question to those of you that suggested a book is are they founded on the theory of evolution and the big bang theory or do they leave that open to interpretation? TIA, Christina
  13. These are exactly what I am looking for!! These are some great ideas. The only one I probably wouldn't delve into is the Great Courses series for the simple fact it is outside of my budget. Any place to watch labs being done? If I remember correctly, one of the suggested programs actually sends you the materials to do labs.
  14. Good morning everyone!! My dd is in 9th grade. Science to her just does not make sense. I was a great student in school, but the one subject I just could never wrap my mind around was and is science. I'm currently using Abeka. It isn't that it doesn't make sense. It is just alot of information for a person who just doesn't get it. I want her to get through school and have some understanding of what is happening all around her. Any curriculum that you can think of that is written for people such as my self and my daughter? TIA Christina
  15. Why don't you recommend Rosetta Stone for high school?
  16. Obviously I am not tech savy. lol Thank you so much! My brain actually had time to catch up with my ears.
  17. These are great ideas. I love the Crash Course videos but wow he goes fast even for me. I love the Beautiful Feet books, but I would prefer not to spend that amount on one subject. You are right though, it is a great idea that you did because of where we are with Covid-19 and how we can't even visit a library. I like the idea of integrating multiple subjects into one topic.
  18. They have to be able to prove you owe it and that they notified you. It will probably take at least a month for them to remove it.
  19. Good evening ladies and gents! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms Next year, I want to teach my dd history by topic. I want to cover one event within one lesson plan. I'm currently using Abeka , but I feel there is too much information on so many different topics without allowing my dd to grasp each event or person. Any books or ideas you can throw my way to make this change next year? Anyone btdt? Thank you in advance!
