Dianne-TX
I don't cloth diaper, but use them for burp cloths. I prefer thick. Thanks.
TheTwinsMom1
We just got the plain old prefold clothe diapers made by Gerber I think it is from Walmart.
LaxMom
:iagree: "Prefolds" being the operative. The birdseye flats are too thin, but the prefolds are multi-layer. (We did cloth diaper. I used other, thicker prefolds for that)
Forget-Me-Not
If you want the nice, thick ones, you'll likely have to buy them online. This place had the best prices back when I was CDing http://www.clothdiaper.com/PRODUCTS/OsoCozy-Prefolds_2 But it's been a while :) HTH
FO4UR
The Gerber prefolds are not real prefolds.;) For soft and thick prefolds, order online.:iagree: cottonbabies.com is a good place to buy.
Lab1
If you want something thick and will really do the job, get infant size chinese prefolds. Mine have held up through four babies. Two were huge spitter uppers! A store bought burp cloth wouldn't have been enough. The infant size is pretty big and will cover your shoulder, back and arm or your lap nicely. meggie
The Gerber prefolds from Walmart lasted through my last two children. I don't think they would be good for real diapers, but they were cheap enough and holy heck were they amazing burp cloths. I was super impressed! craftyerin
These prefolds rocked. I did use them for cloth diapering, but also as burp cloths, and now cleaning rags. http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/diapers.htm

angel marie
we found them at "babies r us." they aren't lookers, but so great to have around. a necessity in the nursery!
Alphabetika
I'm sure these are pricier than what your'e looking for, but I've bought tons as baby gifts, and I also have used them with #3. They were excellent burp cloths, and now we use them as "story cloths" where we tell little stories about the pictures on them. And they're excellent cleaning cloths, too! http://www.etsy.com/shop/laundrymonster?ref=ss_profile
LBS
I wanted larger flannel blankets and lighter ones also. I bought pretty fabrics, some flannel, some batiste/broadcloth, and soft seersucker print. I got 1 1/4 yards apiece to make a large square, I couldn't wrap/swaddle the baby in the smaller ones....it turned out that the flannel ones, folded different ways were the best burp cloths ever, too. I could get a lot of mileage when I'd refold. None of mine were huge burpers though, just moderate, they were absorbent, and I'd get 3-4 layers by folding them, not sure if that's absorbent enough for what you're needing. Heart_Mom
I haven't gotten to read all the replies, but here are the ones I bought over 8 years ago. They are VERY absorbent, and excellent for spit-up cloths. These do need to be washed a few times when you get them to get ultra absorbent, but they they are good to go! http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_info.php?cPath=28&products_id=
