Alicia64
You all gave me many ideas for a two-year-old girl like puzzles, books etc., but I was hoping for very specific ideas. I've never had girls and it's been a long time since anyone was two around here! TIA! Alley
danybug
Not sure how much you wanted to spend, but here are some things I thought of: Wooden Bear Family Dress Up Puzzle Any of the Melissa and Doug Food Sets (like Slice & Bake Cookie Set, Cupcake Set, Cutting Fruit Set, Sandwich Making Set) Play Dough and cookie cutter set Dress Up Clothes Outdoor Assortment (like bubble blower, bubbles, a cool ball, bucket set, sidewalk chalk) Do-A-Dot Rainbow Art Set and I think you can buy special pages to do these on (I printed mine off online and it is art my ds almost 2 loves doing with easy cleanup)
athena1277
How about a baby doll? The Little Mommy dolls are perfect for that age and very cute.
Mrs Mungo
There are a lot of really cute and fun Waldorf and Montessori things on Etsy.
lynn
My dd loved the wooden cutting food at that age and she still plays with it. This is what she has http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Cutting-Food-Box/dp/B000GKD09C/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1333491948&sr=1-1 They have many varieties. Also stringing beads was a well loved toy http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Deluxe-Wooden-27-Piece/dp/B000GIJ4Y4/ref=sr_1_3?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1333492034&sr=1-3 hth
KAM
I'd recommend the Melissa and Doug play food too. My dd has the birthday cake set, the pizza party set, and the cookie set. She loves all of them, they are the one thing that gets played with every day.
rwjx2khsmj
An unbreakable tea set or a doll house were big hits for my 2 year olds.
famof5redheads
-Dress up items like capes and tutus fit for a long time and they love them. -Any Melissa and Doug-type items were a hit with mine. -I recently saw these and thought they were great for anyone interested in a cuddly doll that you are able to customize hair color, hair style and clothing and for the Bible verses. http://babybeblesseddolls.com/ - Schleich animals...still a huge hit with my 9 year-old, and she's been getting them since around 2. -Fisher Price Snap n Style Dolls, my girls loved these too. http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2180&e=thumbnail&pcat=snap_n_style
milovany
Would she like something like this for her bedroom wall? Or is it too "old"? These can be custom designed with colors and pictures of your choice. Let me know if you'd like more info.
Mothersweets
My youngest loved this when she was 2 (and 3,4, and 5!) Rody Horse
MomtoCandJ
Mine likes the puzzles with the big knobs from Wal-mart (I think Garanimals makes them), and board books by Eric Carle (Brown Bear, Brown Bear and The Very Hungry Catepillar are most popular with her), bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and her big ball. pitterpatter
Snap 'n Style doll or baby. Any style you like. An extra set of clothes for the doll is nice. Baby Stella (+ accessory pack is nice to have) Any Melissa & Doug play food set. Although, I would avoid the ones with the half-dollar-sized pieces for a two-year-old. pitterpatter
Melissa & Doug Dress-Up Bear Family or Single - You can often find the single bear for $3.99 at TJ Maxx or Marshall's or HomeGoods. Melissa & Doug Fill & Spill...any style would be good. Melissa & Doug peg puzzles...whatever you like, as they are all good. Again, check TJ Maxx, Marshall's and HomeGoods. pitterpatter
What's your budget? Are you rural or city (so we know what stores you have around)? Do you have Amazon Prime?
pitterpatter
You might check into Lil Woodzeez at Wal-Mart or Target. See whether they fit your budget. Would need to encourage the parents to put up the small pieces for another year or so. http://woodzeez.com/
pitterpatter
Little People Castle - My DD wasn't huge into LP, but she LOVED this set.
