tntgoodwin
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/45839387/ns/health-the_new_york_times/ Has anyone here had any trouble with this?
Veritaserum
Yep. Generic Ritalin always requires a few calls to different pharmacies to see who has any in stock. It's a pain.
Barb_
We had a big problem in the Chicago area last summer. As much of a pain as that was, I've also heard that there is a shortage of certain cancer drugs as well. That would be more of a catastrophe. Beth in OH
I've been hearing about this shortage for awhile, now. I'm not going to answer your question about being affected by it, because I don't want to jinx myself ;).
melissel
I had a little trouble getting refills awhile back, but I was able to get different brands filled instead. (I don't take Adderall anymore, though, so I don't know how bad it might be now.)
KidsHappen
We take Adderall in this house and haven't had any problem getting it here.
greenvneck
I can't find any pharmacy that still has generic Adderall in stock. I went for 3 weeks with no meds; it wasn't pleasant for me OR my family. :D I was able to switch to the extended-release formula and so far it has worked out okay, but that might also be on its way out. From what pharmacies have told me, the brand-name Adderall is still available, but the price difference is astronomical. I pay $10/month for the generic or I could pay $118/month for brand-name.
southcarolinamom
Yep - my walmart and/or CVS pharmacist always say, "Oh, let me make sure this is still in stock first" RE getting a generic Ritalin Rx filled.
Ali in OR
Our neurologist had us try Concerta for our special needs dd who sleeps 13 hours a day and is grumpy when tired. It was a trial to see if a stimulant would make her happier by reducing her need for sleep. I'm glad the trial failed because while there is a cheaper generic, it is not usually available (according to the local pharmacist), so Concerta would have been pretty expensive for us.
