lynn
My boys want older games, halo and mostly sports games. New is $300 and I don't know that they are that interested in kinect (sp?) They would like to play online with their friends. ideas, suggestions?
Kim in Appalachia
It's sold by memory. You can get a new 4GB console for much less, and you can get the 250GB console for $300 new on amazon. I think you can buy the Kinect separately later if you decide you want it.
Hwin
Depends on what kind of warranty Gamestop offers... it's expensive even used, and game systems aren't exactly immune to glitches.
Night Elf
I prefer using Game Stop. If you buy something used, you have 7 days to return it for a full refund. Anything purchased brand new can only be returned for trade-in value. That is why we try to buy all our games used as well. Sometimes we've found we don't like a game and I've been very glad I haven't paid full price for something and then been out that money. You can also join their membership club and get points for purchases. But that might only be useful for people like me who are such frequent customers that the staff know us by first names. :D ETA: I have purchased used games from Amazon but returning them can be a hassle since it involves packaging and shipping and waiting for a refund/exchange. Plus, I'm very cautious of what I buy used because the conditions descriptions can be very vague. Running the race
My ds bought a used one off ebay. It lasted less than a year. He ended up buying another new one. I'd go for the new one to get the warranty unless Gamestop offers a good warranty for used consoles. I agree on buying used games at Gamestop. I love the 7-day policy. Stayseeliz
I wouldn't buy used on a system. We do buy used games frequently!
SweetMissMagnolia
I don't think we've ever bought a used system from GS but have gotten the used accessories (controllers)--we get alot of the used games and over the years have only had problems with like maybe 2.....I'd go with gamestop if it's local for you-they know us by name too LOL  and the points card is great--
MissKNG
My dh bought his from GS and signed up for some club they offer and has gotten many free and reduced priced games because of that club plus a free gamer magazine. He also has the insurance which gives you a new Xbox no matter what happens to yours.
