This is Kind Of Funny - Hysterically Funny if you've had the weekend that I did......

DS10 had his doctor's appointment this evening so the doctor could look at the bullseye mark and prescribe abx. Good thing the appointment was at 7pm b/c ds slept today from noon till 6pm. :w00t:

The nurse took his vitals and gave him a large paper sheet so he could cover himself when the doctor looked at the bullseye mark (it's in a private area).

DS was a little, um, concerned, and asked me what the paper drape was for. I explained that the doctor would want to see the bullseye mark and at the same time, it was important that this be done with respect, courtesy and dignity towards DS. I explained that he would be covered with the paper drape the whole time, and the nurse told him that he would not have to remove his pants or underwear -- he would simply be asked to take them down far enough so the doctor could see the mark.

Doctor enters the room -- ds and he speak. Doctor asks ds if it would be alright for him to see the bullseye -- tells ds that mom will be here the entire time. Goes on to tell him that it's okay if ds doesn't want to let him see the mark -- he is still going to prescribe the abx so ds doesn't have to do something that might make him uncomfortable.

DS says that he is okay letting the doctor see the mark and he gets covered with the paper drape which I hold over him while he makes the mark able to be seen.

The doctor sees the mark - agrees with ds that it certainly is what it appears to be, and thanks him for his cooperation. Ds says that he is welcome and says to the doctor, 'That still wasn't easy.' We all laugh, the doctor leaves the room, and I tell ds that I will hold the drape while he gets his clothes back in order.

He looks down at his pants so he can get everything zipped and buttoned and shrieks: 'OH, NO!' 'What is the matter?' I ask.

'I'm SO embarassed,' he says.

'I wore my monkey underwear.'

Yup - you are right on the $$$$. He seems to be in a lot more pain this time - joint pain and back pain this time. Today he NAPPED for the entire afternoon -- he didn't do that when he was an infant.

He was zip lining in a friend's backyard a few weeks ago - right near the Potomac River, lots of tall wet grass, and he got soaked. When I picked him up, his clothes were in a bag and he was wearing dry clothes that belonged to his friend. My guess is that is where the tick came from. Virginia is infested with infected ticks.

Tonight, I put a tylenol heat patch on his knee, and he is asleep AGAIN!

Tomorrow we will skip the morning part of classical conversations and just do the Essentials in the afternoon b/c I don't think he'd be able to last the entire day. It's always something, isn't it?!
