Monthly cycles and weight

Drink plenty of water and resist salty snacks. That will help keep you from packing on water weight.

Other than that, it's best to just embrace it. It means that you get an extra good week the next week. :D I am always happy when I can maintain my loss and not gain for "that horrid week," because then I know I actually lost weight.

Do they use a scale that breaks down the percent of water, bone, muscle, and fat?

No, nothing that fancy. It's just stepping on a scale where the digital reading is sent to their computer behind the desk. Then they whisper what you lost or gained, so others don't hear.

Thanks Angela. I have actually eaten some salty foods in the past 2 days because of cravings. I'll try to avoid that the rest of my week. And yes, I would be okay if I just maintained what I lost. I'm just scared I will show a gain. I shouldn't but that doesn't stop the worrying. And my DH said the same thing about the week after that likely being a really nice weigh-in. I was on WW twice before so I've faced this problem before but with this being only my 2nd weigh-in, I would feel so bad if I showed a gain this early in the game!

:iagree:

I also always feel the need to tell them that it's that week. I'm sure they love getting that information, but it makes me feel better.
